My experience with their customer service has been pretty poor... I'll definitely think twice before shopping with them ever again.
Called again yesterday evening and the guy I spoke with was very friendly and immediately placed my order for the B-DEC practice amp as a free gift. Hopefully the "used" Jag is in as good shape as the site said it was.
Got the bass today. It's in perfect condition. I couldn't tell it had been played at all and it came in its original packaging. Now I just have to plug it in to make sure the electronics are all in good working condition.
The B-DEC comes tomorrow... I might keep it since I need a decent practice amp, depending on how much I can put together in cash to go toward the Jag.
I love the look, feel, and playability of the Jag though, I'm glad I got a Japanese one while I still could.

Wait, has it already been confirmed that they're going to start making them in Mexico?
I bought a red Jag about a month or so back.
Totally love it to bits - even against 'high-end' stuff, it really holds its own.
Playable, and a really versatile sound.
I read elsewhere on here that it's the best selling Fender bass next to the jazz and precision - if this is the case, surely they wouldn't stop production??

Next to the jazz and precision... That pretty much covers all of their other basses, doesn't it?
Mine's red too. I love it, it looks very vintage with the red headstock and faded pearl inlays.
As far as moving production to Mexico, it's only speculation, but if it's true, I'm glad I got a Japanese model. I own 3 Japanese Fenders, 1 Mexican, and 1 American. The Japanese ones blow the Mexican out of the water, and I even like them better than the American, for the most part.
Tell him to try it before buying it. I was set on buying a Jag, but when I tried it, I found that the neck dive was much worse than I could live with.
My opinion: Buy a Jazz, install a good preamp and switch pickups (if necessary). Jazz > Jag

I bought my used (like new one) Fender Jaguar (black one) year ago. And I fell in love with it. It's definetely the best bass EVER!!! It's so versatile, so beautiful, so growly, etc. And it costed only ~500.
