I have a marcus 5 that was the only bass I played for a couple of years and always used the preamp.
I just recently bought and mia jazz and then this one two weeks later. Hence the management approval. Always buy flowers on way home.....
Because they are passive, they forced me to mess with my settings on my preamp and whoa, awesome tone. I no longer plan to put a preamp it. Now I understand what the old school purists are on about. Passive sounds killer.
Might try an outboard Sadowsky just to get an idea of the difference but originally planned to put in a bart preamp.
The playability is every bit as good as both my mia's.
Payed $1500 AU which over here is very very cheap for a good bass. Both mia's are at least double.
