FENDER JAZZ NECK ON A MODULUS?

OMG Don't do that...LOL

You want to soften the tone?

What do you have for pickups in yours?

I would suggest looking into that...I don't think that Graphite is really any brighter then Maple for that matter. The pings are little different in tone but thats its. In fact IMHO I think there is more of foundation in graphite then say maple/maple.

(I have several of both combination's)

Personally what I found the best combo (after lots of exserpimantion) is to go with Single coils that have all that diffination of mids.

Mostly likely I'm assuming you have stock Barts in there which are not bad pickups but you can get some more meat if you are looking for warmth with singles. Then try either the Audere pre or John East. (I suggest the Audere since its the pre of choice for passive guys) very musical.

I don't think changing that neck is the best bet.

Hey matey... Yes i have the Barts with the Bart 2 band...i want a little more mids to be honest..im not saying a Fender neck will give me that, but it was just an idea.. Do you think singles would do the trick...i was thinking of a pre but im strapped for cash at the mo.. what single pickups would you recommend? Did you sell you VJ?

Andrew

I'm selling one of my 3 VJs :hiding::rolleyes::cool:

Andrew I would suggest Nordstrand NJ4s.

You will not regret it of warmish balanced mids are what you are looking for.

Ha ha...sorry BassAttack...

i had Nordstrands in my old CS Jazz..they were the splitcoils..the SE's...as wonderful as they were they didnt suit a Fender..i put the original CS pups in there and it came alive.... but the single coil Nord's sound like the ticket...

expensive though...:hmm:

I will trust a man of experience as i know you know your VJ4's... the trouble with getting knowledge of these things is thats its expensive...

i want to take away the ..glassyness? and add some mid bump
