Fender Jazz Pickup Spacing...

I read on a vintage post that the pickups on a jazz bass changed from the 70s to the 80s to the 2000s. Also, heard that the GL J has closer pickup spacing than a normal J bass. Is there anywhere that has the specs of the PU spacing?

From the stock photos it looks like the different bridges (BAII vs. classic) affects the bridge PU spacing, but what about between the neck and the bridge PU?

Typical Jazz spacing is what is called "'60s Spaced", which is essentially the bridge pickup inline with where the concentric bridge vol/tone would be in a stack knob circuit. The only change I'm aware of is what's called "'70s Spaced", which is the bridge pickup placed about 3/8" (IIRC) closer to the bridge, i.e. in line with the tone control of a VVT config.

The neck pickup placement never changed. The bridge type also does not affect this measurement. The GL Jazz has the '70s spacing.

The pickups are either spaced 3.6" or 4.0" (center to center).
The neck pickup didn't move.
