Fender Jazz rumours..?

So I noticed this body for sale. Been up for a week. Wonder if this is a clue.

You beat me to it. G&L Fullerton Jazz Bass is a worthy contender to the current Jazz Bass offerings from Fender. Why shouldn't they be. This is the company founded by Leo Fender.l. His right hand man George Fullerton was right there beside him.

I could not agree more. I have a G&L Fullerton Deluxe JB, and I absolutely love it.

Anyway…… I’ll say it again, a US made Aerodyne in alder, assorted colour options, maybe blocks, high mass bridge, pick guard ( or not )……. so yea, I’m building my custom shop bass !
The Aerodyne is a solid seller I guess so,
By doing this Fender would not be trying to offer a “new” model like some in the past few years that seem to “disappear “ without a press conference or ….

I don't care where they make it - Aerodynes with color choices and upgraded hardware would be one of my wishes. Maybe some other pickup options too (j/j, p/p, and "standard" p/j).

I'm usually bad at guessing games, but this got me thinking; "What if FMIC is bringing over something like their Made In Japan Modern Jazz bass, their Aerodyne/American Deluxe Jazz hybrid?"

If you can see them at all. Blocks should be contrasting in some way. Those white ones on the maple board would be like putting black blocks on an ebony board.

I personally like it, pictures don't do a white inlay on maple justice. You really have to see them in person, they look great.

Yep! I always loved the Aerodynes but didn't like the solid black look. I placed my order for this puppy today. Should arrive in mid-late October, per my SW rep.

I like the JJ setup as I already have a couple PJs, and I'm excited to try this new Fender-ish lookin' Babicz bridge. All of my other roundwound-loaded Js are active, so I'm really looking forward to this and it will fill a small void in my bass lineup.

They couldn't have picked a better color/hardware combo for me. Anything blue, white, and chrome has my immediate and full attention! The ONLY thing I wish I could change (based on the pictures and specs) is the knob location... just a little further down and towards the output jack would be my preference, but I think I can live with it. Oh... and a roasted maple neck would also be preferred. So far I'm 2 for 2 for absolutely loving basses with roasted necks.

If this is whatever dude was talking about as "coming in October", I'm a happy camper!

$2,400 for a bass with what looks to be an old style steel truss rod?
And why do I think this will be a boat anchor made from ash? Pretty sure my 73' Olympic White J is alder.
The only thing "exciting" could be:

• Thick “’70s U”-shaped neck profile; 9.5”-radius fingerboard

But didn't the original American Original 70s Jazz feature the same Ultra-Vintage '74 pick-ups as the abandonned '74 Jazz Bass from the American Vintage Series (2013-2018)? Now they call these pick-ups Ultra-Vintage '75 pick-ups?? Makes them even less accurate 'cause in '75 all Jazz Basses had 3-bolt necks. They introduced the '74 in the AVS series to justify that it has a 4-bolt neck.

AFAIK this color wasn't available till now, although so many Precision and Jazz Basses in the 70s had this color.

As opposed to what other type of truss rod material?

Graphite stiffening rods, steel truss rod with a modern adjustment wheel, or a double action truss rod would all be improvements IMO
