FENDER JAZZ SPECIAL

Hi all......just managed to acquire this 1986 Fender Jazz Special Fretless for a snip!

It's one of the black lacquer neck models and is in very dirty condition. It is all original apart from one of the knobs is missing and the tone knob has an insert missing. As most of you will be aware, this bass used special 'F' logo knobs.

the black hardware is in very good condition and hasn't turned that chalky white colour they tend to become after a while.

Fretboard is in absolutely fabulous condition and it appears to have only ever been used with flat wounds and it sounds incredible....even with these ancient strings on it!
I am about to strip it down and clean it up and I was wondering:
Does anyone out there have a knob or two kicking about that would be for sale?

Any three that match would work. I had one with the black knurled ones. Looked great.
I like basic knurled steel. It won't detract from the bass. I'd keep the originals in a bag or sell them to someone that is desperate. If that were my bass, I'd wash it up and maybe hit it with some very fine grit poly polish to make it shine. That there bass has been well-played.

I'll post a pic once it's 'de-greased' so safe to handle (!!) and restrung.....as for the knobs, I thought it was worth a punt on TB just to see if anyone had any rattling around in their spares tin.....probably knurled is the way to go
