Love the purple, don't care for the tort guard and kinda hate gold hardware in general. But I've been a fan of Ali Shaheed Muhammad for ages (since Tribe, naturally). Would definitely give this bass a whirl if I stumble across one in a shop somewhere.

He's wearing what appears to be a Neapolitan suit, possibly Roman. The man has good taste in clothes although I'm not crazy about the bass color scheme.

I really like Fender bass stuff. It's usually my go to for a lot of situations. That being said come on Fender! That bass seems so unoriginal I could make a parts bass for cheaper minus matching headstock. The price is high but I look at it like Fender basses are the most common. With the exception of limited edition stuff I can wait a few years and get a used one for more than half off in most cases. There's a home for every bass though and I'm sure someone will love it.

Fender can't win for losing. They come out with something new and people whine and say they should stick to what they know and stay with the tried and true. They stick to the tried and true and people cry and moan that it's the same old P bass.

I'd never pay over 2 grand for a Precision, especially one that had two large pieces of metal I'd immediately remove and store in the case. Having said that, it sure is beautiful to look at.
