Fender mexican precission bass ... or fake?

Hello everyone. Let me introduce myself my name is Angel I am from Spain and I'm new here. I hope my English is well understood

I need help to know if this bass is real, replica or "squier" with the mast changed. Took days trying to find something and find nothing.

I'd be very grateful if someone helps me because I do not get anything clear.

The m in the serial number on the headstock shows this to be a Mexican fender.

I find the model for any site and also the price, its pretty cheap here (about 200$)

I saw it, 2002-2003, the seller tells me it's the model 2005 before the 60th anniversary, of course I looked for more I have not found, at least with the same inscriptions.

Looks real to me. Used to have the same one, same color, same year.

According to Fender the prefix MZ2 is a 2002-2003, made in Mexico instrument.

MIM Fenders are usually found in the 250 to 350 price range in my area. I once found one for $100, but that sold quick. I bought one for $150 with a hardshell case, but I'd say that one is a good deal for $200

In Europe that is a phenomenal deal. Looks very legit.
Play it and it you like it...buy it.

Unless it's modded or a parts bass it seems pretty legit for a 2002-2003 made in Mexico Fender Precision bass, I really like that body color.

Welcome to TalkBass Angel! Everything looks correct in the photos you posted. I ran your serial number through www.guitardaterproject.org and got this "Your guitar was made at the Ensenada Plant (Fender), Mexico in the Year(s): 2002 - 2003".

If someone wanted to build a counterfeit Fender, it doesn't make sense that they would choose to replicate one made in Mexico, as the same amount of effort would yield a "made in America" fake that would sell for more money.

thats a nice bass fake or not,it looks legit to me,I wouldnt even sweat it over 200.00,I just dont see anyone faking a MIM Fender and only asking 200.00 for it...If it plays nice and has no issues get it and Rock the Hell out of it...
