Fender Mod Shop Experiences ??

I am considering ordering a Fender Precision Bass from the Fender mod shop. Since I am a lefty my choices are extremely limited (Fender American Pro being the other option with only 1 color offered) so there is little chance I can try anything before I buy. I would like to know if anyone has any actual experience when ordering from the Fender Mod Shop and how will they rate it.

I'm curious to hear as well. Are the components used in the mod shop basses US part spec or MX ? It seems odd that the roasted neck option is no more expensive than a plain maple neck option.

I have read a few NBD threads here that were positive. But I have no actual experience with it myself. I do believe that the parts are US made.
