Fender Mod Shop Free Upgrades

Hey ya'll, I just noticed the Fender Mod Shop is doing free upgrades again. I ordered a P Bass with this last year and the discounts lasted less than a week. If it's your first time ordering you can also get 10% off. You can get a custom MIA Fender with upgrades for slightly more than a stock American Pro II.

I was going through the selections but they’re somewhat limited. I couldn’t get an ebony fretboard, painted headstock, or black hardware. Disappointing.

That was my biggest disappointment as well. A matching headstock is my one of my favourite aesthetics for guitars and basses with certain finishes. I also prefer ebony with some finishes also (although Fender not having THAT doesn't surprise me).

Well, a lot has changed in the last 10 years. Back then a friend ordered a white custom-shop Tele with a satin solid black pickguard, black hardware and an ebony unmarked fretboard. It was gorgeous and something I’d love to have in a P/J with a Jazz neck.
No such luck, so basically what they’re calling custom really isn’t.

Exactly. It's more of just a color choice option site.
