Fender, MusicMan or Warwick Bass

You know they say "There are no bad Spector basses, just different levels of awesome!"
Budget is around $1500, or at least I was hoping to keep that as the max. My MIM Standard pbass is $799, and I was looking for the next step up from that. Is that budget possible with Warwick/ErnieBall/Fender/Spector? The Ernie Ball sounds like you guys really love it. Is there a Spector with humbuckers, like the Stingray?
Speaking of your photos of the skittles...the light blue with the black hardware is pretty fine.
Oh dude.. for that.. you can get a wonderful used Spector! Less even.. If you can pick up a CRFM.. (Czech Rep Figured Maple) bass.. for around 1000-1200 bucks.. the nice thing about those is that they were being made with the maple from the same source as the USA Woodstock basses were being made from, basically the only difference was the preamp and the labor.. outside of that.. there isn't any difference..

$1500 can get you into quality models (used) in all of the brands you listed.
Just so that you know.. I am not a Spector fanboi.. I like them a lot.. but I have other basses that I like a lot too!
Here is a Rebop for sale.. sweet bass for a BO neck.. I suggest putting a Darkglass Tone Capsule in it though

Again true.. but I will say this.. with the Spector basses I bought through TB untried.. have not disappointed me in one iota of a way!
I must have been mistaken with the weight of the MM, I'm hearing from everyone that they are not heavy at all. Which is great, because it sounds like a perfect option
Well I've got a P, a J, a Stingray, and a Spector. For my rock cover band gig I usually take the P or J. They'll all work but for the classic rock stuff the Fenders just work.
I've had and or have basses from Schecter, Gibson, Fender, Musicman, And G&L. All of them were just fine. The one bass I have now that can literally do it all is my MusicMan Sabre, with my G&L USA ASAT semi hollow right behind it. I also have a tony Franklin fretted pbass. It's great as well, but limited in the tones it can produce. And by limited, I mean compared to the previous ones I mentioned. If I didn't have those it would be my go to bass. It's truly a fantastic bass
I don't think you can go wrong with any of those, but if I were you I'd take a look at Lakland too. Lakland's 44-64 is a great P bass (better than Fender IMHO). They also make some great jazz style basses.
All the basses you listed are also very different sounding and feeling too, so of course you'll need to just sit down and play them to be sure.
As far as music man goes, I greatly prefer the Music Man classic 2 band EQ stingray to the 3 band. They sound very different to my ears and the necks feel different.

EBMM Sterling, Stingray tone with less weight, I have one and love it.
I also have a Warwick Corvette(German), pretty heavy. And a MIJ Fender P bass, nice and light but maybe not the tone you're after.
