Black pickguard arrived from Decoboom this weekend. Really like the contrast compared with body color and maple fretboard. Still waiting on my hipshot ultralites and bridge to arrive. (Also in black)

I likely would not necessarily have considered black, but yes, that combo looks decent, as it also does on DAVEYC's recent new bass Fender Mustang Club.

Haha.. I guess I'm starting to see a pattern here when I look at the wall and notice my pickguard decisions!

Here's my customized American Performer Mustang. I bought it back in the spring, and just finished customizing it. The customizations include a walnut nitro finish, a Spitfire pickguard (Vintage Burgundy/Bright Red mix), Hipshot lollipop tuners, a bone nut, and mother of pearl dots. (It was originally sunburst poly with a white pearloid guard.)
I actually was able to remove the stock white plastic dots and insert the mother of pearl dots myself. It's a bit nerve-wracking, but not as difficult as you might imagine. The dots don't really show up in these low-light indoor photos, but they look good in person.

I've had GAS for a Mustang lately and you just made it 10X worse, haha! What a beautiful bass you have there!
My major decision right now is, do I go with a regular Mustang, or the PJ? I love my P bass and it's tone, so just not sure what to do. I feel like from a practical perspective, the PJ would be a good fit. But I like the tone out of the standard Mustang pickup, from what I've heard online.
Well, the Squire CV60's Mustang has the original style small pickups and sounds great (IMO!) -Also coasts less than the straight Fender Mustangs...
Mods are complete on the new Mustang. Hipshot bridge and Ultralites. Basically did the exact same as my sunburst model with the exception of strings: the yellow has Diaddario nickle wounds and the sunburst has flats. I absolutely love everything about both of these guys, so hopefully this will be it for the foreseeable future!

I like my P for the sound of a P bass, but the comfort of SS and 1.5" neck of the PJ. With flats and a few tweaks (pups and EQ), I can get close to the sound of a P. I have never had the pleasure of trying a regular Mustang.
Some new tuning problems with my Squire CV60's Mustang:
Problem#1: I tried switching from my LaBella MUS strings to medium length D'addario Chrome flats, but then got some strong buzzing from the A string. I tried everything but couldn't find what was causing it or get rid of it, and finally went back to the LaBella MUS strings. I think the problem is that the medium Chromes' wrap by the ball end was too short which makes the metal part of the string contact the bridge where it bends out of the input hole, thus setting up an annoying harmonic vibration... Anyway, after I reinstalled the MUS strings with their longer ball area wrap the buzzing disappeared...!!
Problem#2: I now appear to have a 'dead' fret position!
A# on the 13th fret will only produce a tinny bizz unless I press down on the string there with a great deal of strength. This is the only fret position that does this and I have no idea what causes it or how to fix it... Perhaps a trip to the luthier is needed? -Anyone else have anything similar to this?

@Greywoulf Never had anything like the sudden rise of a buzzy fret like that before! But given that frets and wood are mated by tension, which can be unpredictable... I wonder if maybe the D'Addario's suddenly different tension (or the sudden loss of tension when removing the LaBellas) caused the fret to jump out of place? If there was extra clearance on the other strings at that fret position (for example... the E-string side moved a bit, but the E string is usually a bit higher up than the other strings so it may not notice), I could see how that could happen.
In your case, it would prob be the 14th fret, the B on that string, that's risen and is embattling the A#'s free vibration.
And I've had fret buzz arise over the course of a year or two of owning a bass, and in that case, a fret did appear to have migrated a bit.
The bad news is, unless you're really handy with either a rubber mallet or a fret file, it probably means a luthier needs to look at it. Good news is, if that's what it is, they're not likely to tax you much for the fix.

Just for the halibut, put the D'Addario A string back on for a few moments, and check whether issue #2 is still happening.
Before returning to the LaBella, also try moving the bridge saddle of the A deliberately sharp of pitch to try to shorten the active part of the string and seat the string better, and observe whether or not issue #1 goes away.
You can return the saddle to normal afterwards.
And if you happen to have any other A strings which will fit this bass, try one of those on it as well, and check for each issue.
Check at each and every fret of the A, and check the other 3 strings at the 13th position, for buzzing/deadness/weirdness, writing down what you notice.
All of this testing will help lay blame where blame is due, and should allow you to analyze and choose a better course of action [ pun semi-intended

Just a few days ago got a Fender MIM Mustang, brought it used from Bassdirect in the UK, is a 2016 model.
Loving it so far, feels great to play, the action is nice and low, the neck feels great and it sounds great, the P pickup sounds like a good P pickup, it sounds nice and full but with a decent amount of brightness and the J pickup whilst I wouldn't solo it when combined with the P pickup it gives a nice bright scoopy tone, will have to upload some pics when I get a moment to do so

!! I know at my age I'm no longer as ~sharp~ as I usta be, but geeeze my head must've gone on a vacation somewhere when I wrote that stuff above! 
-A careful re-setup by me, raising and backing up the saddles, now gives me perfection intonation on all the Squier's frets using the LaBella MUS strings! Now that sanity has returned I'll hafta try re-installing the Chrome flats again....

Played with my Pawn Shop Mustang last weekend, and just remembered how massive this little guy could sound...
Is that a TC Bam200 head powering that big Hartke 15? I use one of those neat little Bam200's into a TC 2x8 cab; -love the sound!
Just got a used Fender Urban short scale gig bag from Reverb, after reading a Sweetwater review on this discontinued bag that said it fit the Mustang perfectly...
