Fender needs to make a Talkbass edition

Carrot orange Precision with a "best bass for metal" stamped on the back of headstock.

Also there should be a Squier version for a fraction of the price so we can argue whether anyone can tell the difference or not.

problem with any major company making a "TB special" is that 3/4 of you numbnutz could never decide what it should look like, sound like, or play like.

EPIC-FAIL.

don't forget a lever that converts from fretted to fretless. Some mechanism that pulls he frets down into the fingerboard.. That would give you your lined fretless. Then you need a second mode that pulls them under the fingerboard so matching wood inlays rise up and make it look like an unlined fretless.
