Fender p-bass? (again!)

Thanks to those of you who replied last time, but if you're reading this for the first time, I'm trying to figure out something about a bass I recently bought. I'm leaning towards it being a Squier with a new neck, but hopefully these photos will work, so maybe someone knows different!

No serial number is present anywhere on the instrument, as should be seen in the pics!

Any ideas PLEASE let me know! ;)

I'd say that isn't legit. I don't think real Fenders ever came with a "P-Bass" inscription as opposed to Precision. I know for a fact though that Squier lines have come with "P-bass" and "J-bass" on the headstock for the lower level stuff.

As for the decal, I seem to have been seeing alot of Squier's with 70's Fender era decals. I'm no expert though.

It is the basic Squier model with nothing more than part of the decal was removed and changed from Squier to fender. The serial number would have been on the back of the headstock and was obviously removed because it said designed and backed by Fender. It looks like the crafted in Indonesia model.

Thanks, I'm still learning how to use the forum lol! The thing that puzzles me is that I can't find any trace of a serial number! Most Squiers have it on the neckplate unless this has had a replacement!

3-5 years from what I have learned. The one in the pics my buddy picked up for his son a couple months ago for $40.00 on CL, it was unplayed with a new Fender giggidy-bag (as Quagmire would say) and the owner stated she had purchased it new in 06.

From what I understand they sold for about $150.00 new.

I have to admit, that's an absolute a+! I looked at the back of the headstock tonight in the light and very faintly made out the serial! It's an Indonesian made in 04! Tell me something though. I've got quite a few normal guitars, from a non make Chantery to a nice Harmony, and they all do well for different purposes, but what differences would be most noticable if I were to buy something like a Fender standard or American standard? Obviously the quality, but how about playing? I mainly play small gigs to drunks who wouldn't notice anyway, but would I notice a huge difference between one and the Squier?
