Fender P Bass for $80?

Fixed it up. Truss rod is stripped. But the bow is about where i like it so its all good. Threw some new(er) strings on it and tightened everything. Some weird wiring i think because the tone nob has a MAJOR volume effect to it too. Turning it down makes it way louder and turning it up makes it weak. So im not sure. I'll check it out later.

What should i do about the pickguard? Black? I kinda like purple tort but i dont want to spend as much on a pickguard as i spent on the bass.. ha.

Serial No. CD99050402 and says crafted in china. Chinese?

Made in China, 1999. CY serial prefixes are more common, but you'll also see CJ, CT & CD, as on yours.

Theres a few pics of the bad boy. Before I did anything to it. Replaced all the PG screws and did everything i can to it without buying anything. Plays good. Truss rod is stripped. Any suggestions?

Tort guard? BWB will be nice too.

I'd keep an eye out for cheap necks for sale. I don't know about you, but the stripped truss rod would bother me no end, even if I am happy with the current action.

Yeah it does bug me.. Its bowed just a little much for me.

The top one is after replacing the rusty PG screws and taking it apart to clean. The bottom was beforehand. But they are crappy phone pics so you probably cant tell.
