Fender Play app?

Hey everyone.

So, I've been away from this forum and bass playing in general for the last four years. The last band I was in went out with a whimper after our drummer had some medical issues, and we never re-started it after he got back on better footing.

I pick up the bass every once in a great while, and mess around with it, but I haven't been part of a band or a regular jam session for that period of time.

I want to get a "refresher" on my bass playing, and hopefully eventually get into a band situation again (or at least a regular jam session). I'm quite rusty at this point. I have seen ads for the Fender Play app, which apparently has versions for both guitar and bass. Has anyone tried this out, and is it worth the monthly subscription price? Thanks for any advice.

not tried the app, but get a drum machine of some kind for sure.
(I own a BeatBuddy, it has good swing and okay Bossa-nova; I also have a Roland HPD hand percussion which has great latino rhythms)
