Fender Player Plus

Alembics and parametric mid knobs scare me.

Saw some of these on Reverb by an Italian retail store, decided to Google it and apparently it leaked on the 21st of June.

Looks like the main takeaways are a hi-mass bridge, new colors, noiseless pickups, and a PJ setup for the Precision. Something to “bridge the gap” between the Player Series and Vintera Series, like a MIM Deluxe replacement.

Not super excited for these, but new colors are always welcome!

The Mexican factory is falling behind its Far East counterparts in terms of QC. The Squiers coming out of the China factory are exceptional.

I will happily sing the praises of my CIC Squier Telecaster. That guitar is just as good as any American made instrument. The only thing it does need is a new switch. Otherwise, the fit, finish, tone, and playability are superior.

My son just picked up two G&L guitars that were made in Indonesia. He's thrilled with everything about them. My last purchase was a Made in Taiwan Squier P bass from the late 1980's; it's an excellent instrument. But of course, I love all my basses, some just more than others.

Thump on,

I’m just bitter because I wish there was a model that had everything the CV had bit with a satin neck and fender on the headstock for like $650 usd. Doesn’t have be made in Mexico, can be made anywhere.

That I would buy brand new.
800 grit sandpaper on the back of the neck, wet or dry, do a few passes along the length then clean up with a clean rag and lighter liquid. You can always restore the gloss with finer and finer grits of sandpaper or even better micro mesh.
As for the Fender decal you know it doesn't matter.
