Fender pre-CBS Club: pics mandatory!

Not in my possession yet but soon to be.

The refinish included laying down a new decal; as the old one had been worn off. It has a 1970's Logo, (Which I prefer).

Could be a cool player, man. The neck with the tuners is worth that alone, IMO. I'd check the heel when you get it, though. And if the pickups are original, that's a really sweet deal. Nothing thumps like old Fender pickups

Right. So I played a '54 Precision bass the other day. It was original except for the finish (but it was butterscotch so no prob), and it was one of those rare moments (I had it with my '66 Jazz as well) that someone hands you a bass, and before having played one note you say "yes, this is it". And it was. It belonged to my former teacher, and he has a '60 Ampeg B-15, and the combination of those two... I thought I was dreaming. It was perfect. And I was sober. I want that bass. He told me it was €10K, because it was a refin. Crikey.

Here's a pic of three of his basses and one of mine. Only 2 pre-CBS, sorry 'bout that. From left to right: '54, '66, '66, '59.

Played Warre last night at Practice.

The bass has a perfect tone where it fits in the pocket of our sound.

Can't wait to try it out at a gig.

Update; the pickups are original.

Pots were changed in 1980, no scratching when dialing in volume or tone (Unlike my late 70's P Bass...) .

Somehow I lost devnulljp at #60 when I did the summary so rather than renumber everyone after him I'll just renumber ZonieBass as 60.1 (if that's okay with him!) Sorry!
