Fender precision bass or fender jazz bass?

both are excellent basses. i think that no matter what people say you have to try them both out yourself and see what feels right to you. personally i think if you are asking because this is going to be your main bass i would go with some sort of PJ setup. while i think P basses are great for rock and indie, the jazz bass is the better trade for any other genre, to me. i used to play a P bass, but sold it for a jazz because i loved the feel of the neck so much more. You can get both to sound great, but only one will feel perfect in your hands. best of luck.
