Fender Precision Fretless Neck 1972 EXCELLENT!

Up for grabs is a vintage 1972 Fender Precision maple/maple bass neck. This bass started life as a fretted neck and was made fretless in the mid 80s. The frets were not removed however, they were filed down and covered over with some type of finish. Not really sure if it's polyurethane but likely so. I have owned this neck since 1997 when I acquired it (on a 72 P bass) from a family friend. Recently, I decided I wanted frets with the Rosewood fingerboard and after finding one I've decided to let go of this fretless neck. This is a gem of a fretless neck. Not a botched job. No dead spots, high spots, no low points, no soft notes or notes that are too loud or boomy. Every note is correct. Sound file available upon request. Only one flaw, the sealant on the fingerboard is slightly chipped at the fifth fret. It does not affect playing and the string does not come in contact with that part of the fingerboard. Aside from being altered, this is a fantastic playing and looking 1972 Fender Precision neck. Also includes a handmade bone nut by John Bertche of We Buy Guitars LLC New York City. truss rod is perfect.i had this on my bass for over 23 years and used it on countless recordings. It's a great one not a twisted mess. NO ISSUES. EDIT- I have the missing string post!
