Fender Precision itch........

I recently purchased a 2001 Fender MIM Precision loaded body off of eBay. I bought a Mighty Might neck and finished it with Reranch products (amber/satin). I added some new Fender tuners and D'Addario Chromes flats. It's my first Pbass and I absolutely love it. At some point I will post pics of my "build". It was a near disaster (drilling holes all the way through the head stock, etc.) but I LOVE the results.

My Ibanez SRT900DX pretty much collects dust and my Geddy Lee Jbass is played but not as much. I default to that FrankenFender Precision for some reason.

I would like to purchase another Pbass. I don't want to spend the money on a MIA just yet. I've never been drawn to either of the basses I now have my eye on but I've since given them another look. I'd like to know what you guys that have played them both think.

1) Fender "Roger Waters" Precision

2) Fender Road Worn 50s Precision

I understand that the Roger Waters neck is thick but the Mighty Might neck is fairly thick compared to the GL and I actually like it a lot.

I am more interested in tone and build quality. I was surprised to see that the Road Worn was MIM and not Japan. Sorry for the wall of text.

Just FYI, I buy online so I don't always have the luxury of actually playing before buying.

Maybe I didn't frame my question properly. Or maybe not stating that I HAVE used the search feature and watched as many videos on YouTube as I could find. Maybe I didn't state that I haven't been playing long and that most of the basses I have played have been with thin necks like the Ibanez SRs or smooth like the Geddy Lee or rough like all the Squiers I have sent back. Maybe I'm a complete idiot who couldn't ask a legitimate question if my life depended on it. Whatever the case may be, I was hoping to get a "my opinion out of the two you listed is X/Y is the best bang for the buck because.........." or even "depends on what type of music you play" which I would happily list but didn't originally to save space.

Even Lowendgenerator got responses to "what's the best Warwick for metal". I know, I know, he can actually play and offers help to others regularly but he asks the most hated question on this board and gets a response?? And ME? ME? Crickets.........nothing but crickets.........and an occasional peep out of those South American Brown Sleeved Barking Spiders we have around here (they seem to be most vocal after burritos for breakfast, but that's another story.........).

Anyhoo, I ordered the Road Worn 50's Precision to keep me happy while I disassemble the FrankenFender Pbass and attempt to correct all the mistakes I made in "building" it in the first place. I may go paint flames on my riding mower too. Why? Because that's how I roll............

Just an FYI - Measure the thickness of the headstock. Measure your drill bit from the tip backwards and wrap some masking tape at a point shorter than the thickness of your headstock. When drilling the holes, stop when you reach the masking tape on the bit.

It's also helpful to use the actual tuning machine to determine the location of the holes.

I actually did just that, lol. The problem I found was not paying attention to the tape itself and relying on it to "stop" my progress. After a few holes the tape began to ride up the bit and not noticing I continued to drill holes. I realized The tape had moved once the drill bit appeared on the face of the headstock. Lesson learned. I really need to make a post relating to that build, if you can call it that. It's a lesson in what not to do. It may be helpful to other rookies who want to have some fun. I had a blast and never expected it to turn out to be my favorite bass.
