Fender Precision - Standard vs. Player

Hi,
I have a couple questions regarding comparsion of the old and new Mexican series. I did not succeed in finding answers, so I wonder, if anyone can help me.

1) Regarding the neck - is the same profile and finish?
2) I know, that Player (at least JB) has cavity shielded with conductive paint. Has it Standard too?
3) Tuners look the same to me, is it right? (which means replacment are Hipshots HB7)

Are there any other important differences, except different pickup (which I dont care, because I would swap for Fralin)?

I´m asking because I´d like to get sunburst, but Pau Ferro on Player is dealbreaker for me, I want rosewood, which means I need to find old Standard...

Tuners are the same as is I believe the neck profile.

Cavity is painted for shielding.

Pau Ferro - yes, the looks. And for me its maple or rosewood, max ebony for fretless. Pretty conservative I guees. And the same reason and dot like basswood for body. No sound reasons, just my feeling

Can get Player 3TS loaded body and a maple neck on Stratosphere for a little less than MSRP, but no warranty of course.

The new Player series has a different type Fender logo on the face. The Made in Mexico and serial number are on the back of the headstock compared to the older standard models (90's and early 00's models). The headstock is also glossed over the front.

I have a 1998 MIM-P and have picked up a couple of the Player models in stores. The only difference I recall is, mine has a gloss finish maple w/rosewood fretboard neck and the Player’s are satin finish maple w/pau ferro fretboard.

the player neck has a more satin finish on the back

The standard neck feels a bit more rounded and thicker

Is it possibler that the late models (2017) have satin finish? Because I´v readreview on 2017 Standard (maple fretboard however) and there wasnt gloss finish on the neck.

Anything’s possible. I am not a Fender guru on their production line specifications/year. I’m guessing, but wasn’t it around that year of 2017, that they started the Player Series which, do have the satin finish necks?

2017 was the last year of Standard series.

There ya go! Wouldn’t be the first time that production lines mixed parts for outgoing and inbound models.

The Standards changed a few things over the course of their long lifetime, and comparing ones built 20 years ago with ones built just before the Players were introduced will show some of these differences. Comparing a Standard to a Player begs the question “in what year was the Standard made?”

Since Fender began using Pau Ferro in 2017, the fretboard material you don't like, looks like the MIM Standards that were made in 2016 and earlier are what you are after. I'm not expert but as far as I remember those were poly gloss necks & bodies uniess you veer-off to their other models like the Highway One, which were satin neck and body or the Classic 50's and Roadworn. The later being relic'd worn down finish, and I'm pretty sure it was nitro. I think they only made Precision Roadworn's with maple necks and the 'burst was 50's style 2-tone with gold guard like a late 50's P. The Jazz Roadworn was early 60's 3 color 'burst with tort guard. Sorry for the long tangent but those Roadworn P's were so sweet and at the time everywhere and now pretty hard to find. Back to the point of the thread, as @MtManiac and others have mentioned the neck profiles, hardware and pickups probably varied (slightly) over the 20+ years so comparing a 1995 MIM to a 2016 MIM I wouldn't be surprised if you find something if you inspect them side by side.
