Fender Precision: would it be worth it?

I WOULD buy a SX P-Bass, but the problem is that they don't sell them over here, and I don't think Rondomusic or any other shop ships them here, so If I buy a new bass I think I'm gonna buy the Fender P-Bass here.

The school's amp is about 100W-120W, but I don't think they'd sell it to me, it's new and we (well, I) use it every day. Anyways I'll go to the shop tomorrow and ask what bass amplifiers they have.

P.S: IotaNet I see you have the same bass as me. I find mine a little heavy (about 6.5KG), what about yours?

I might be mistaken, but I think I've heard of Kurt at Rondo shipping overseas....maybe shoot him an email?

You should keep your money in your pocket, you have a fine bass to get you going. Play it until it is worn out! when you are ready and you have had a chance to play plenty of other basses, re-visit the idea of a P-bass

there are P-basses on every corner. You will always find one! Enjoy the SX and do not think that buying a new bass is the answer to your prayers - keep the money!

Hmmmm ...

I haven't weighed mine but it is comparable in weight to my other basses (i.e. not bad at all.) but if I am converting correctly, 6.5KG = 14 Pounds ... mine is nowhere NEAR that heavy! :eek:

I had one of the Ash bodied SX 5-strings and THAT was too heavy for me -- it was well over 11lbs.

OK I've decided: I'm going to keep my bass, and maybe change some little things, but keep it. Next thing I'm going to buy is a new amplifier (I'm feeling kind of stupid with my 15W lol), and maybe later on the P-Bass (the price will have decreased by then I guess, even if it's already pretty cheap). I need to ask a question about amplifiers (I know I should be posting this on the amplifier forum but I don't want to open another thread just for that). How powerful (in Watts) does an amplifier have to be so I can be heard over the drums in a small concert (I'm talking about a school auditorium with space for nearly 300 people)?
