Saying MIM instruments are junk is pretty unfair. And maybe even a bit on the racist side.
IDK if id go as far as saying its racist but its an ignorant comment at best.
I read that entire thread... I didn't see 1 political comment or veiled political comment.. weirdFrom the last discussion, I learned that a thread on instrument pricing is a thread on politics. Not allowed, nothing to discuss…
Just look at the other large thread on Fender price increasesI read that entire thread... I didn't see 1 political comment or veiled political comment.. weird
Irrespective of where it's made they are made by people who just, want to work and do their best to make a good product.Considering MIM is made by Mexicans with asian hardware in Mexico and MIA is made by mexicans with asian hardware in the USS it's sort of funny to me.
MIM fenders have cheaper made hardware and electronics, different quality body wood and don't do the fret finishing the way they do with American made ones.. it's not the people, it's what product lines the company chooses to produce in those factories.Irrespective of where it's made they are made by people who just, want to work and do their best to make a good product.
Agree with the cheaper hardware & pickups there was a thread somewhere here on TB showing, pictures of the differences between the bodies & necks from MIM/MIA basses. And IIRC some necks or bodies were shipped from the American plant to the Mexican plant.MIM fenders have cheaper made hardware and electronics, different quality body wood and don't do the fret finishing the way they do with American made ones.. it's not the people, it's what product lines the company chooses to produce in those factories.
Ford makes amazing trucks in Mexico.. nobody is talking about the people or the country..

that sucksNow imagine having 30% to 50% annual inflation for decades and you will be welcome to Argentina ... in 2009 I bought my first car at 38,000 Argentine pesos, today it costs 2,500,000, the same car!
Out of curiosity, what race is a bass guitar or a country?Saying MIM instruments are junk is pretty unfair. And maybe even a bit on the racist side.
