I nabbed one of these about a week and a half ago. Still waiting to get it set up just like I like it (word to the wise: if you're looking to put Chromes on one of these, go with Medium scale, NOT short scale), but it's a sweet bass. Came right out of the factory box, so it's not like a tech went over it and thus it required some tweaking, but it's a pretty sweet bass for the price.
Mine came in a tad over 9 lbs. Was hoping it might be a touch lighter but I can live with that. Was surprised to find it's the same length from lower bout to headstock as a 34" scale, but if I'd read the reviews more closely I'd have caught that. So it's not a space saver if you're playing a shoe box, exactly, but it's a very cool throwback sort of design made of real wood instead of the cruddy chipboard bodies of yore. So far I'm skeptical that it's likely to become my main player, but it may very likely become my go-to backup, and I do like the general flavor of it and all the pickup switching options.
