We're there any tuning machines mounting screw holes pre drilled?
Let us know how you like it once you get set up!
I drilled the screw holes last night and put a set of strings on. I haven't set it up yet, but it feels nice already.

I've read your post and are facing exactly the same dilemma. I no longer can play on a fretless bass and are thinking of either swapping the neck just like you did or just selling as is and replace it with a Danelectro 59DC Long Scale Bass
Please let me know your thoughts!
These roasted necks feel really good and are high quality. It's a good option but the prices just went up to $400 retail price. And you'll need to have the nut cut by a tech unless you can do it yourself. If you want to go with light weight tuners, this is a good option because there won't be extra holes where "original" tuners were mounted.
It turns out I just sold my Jazz bass because I want to try some different basses and can't keep more than 1 or 2, but I know I will miss that bass and that neck.
Thanks for the reply!
So basically the nut needs to be cut, the place for the tuners need to be drilled and it needs new tuners because the old ones aren't transferable?
If what I understood was right it needs more work than I initially thought it would!
It comes with the 4 large holes (I think 11/16" diameter) but you have to drill the small holes that screw down the tuners. Just be careful not do drill those all the way through the headstock!
I used Hipshot Ultralites so I had to drill one small screw hole for each one. You can see the small screw heads at the bottom of each tuner in this pic. Most tuners have a plate with 4 holes. You can get any type of tuners you like, with or without the plate.

Got it!
The neck is going for approx $425 including tax, import tax, shipping charges etc from the UK. Another obstacle is if customs will allow the item in as the dealer here has exclusive rights and your not able to even import Fender guitars yet alone I have no idea about parts.I've even had an order rejected from Germany due to this. The dealer also asked me to contact Fender to ask if swapping necks was possible with respect to the size of the neck pocket then they want me to place the order through them. It just doesn't add up!
If I go for it I'll have the same tech doing the nut complete the entire job to be on the safe side
There are no dealers for example Danelectro and can be imported without any issues

Check the drawings carefully. I think the USA models are a slightly better fit. In my experience, the import ones are a little small for Fender/Squier necks. They need tape for a tight fit and the hole isn't fully covered on the back side. I'm not sure which type you are looking at. Also, I think the more expensive shiny one looks better than the matte finish chrome ones.Heyy all!
The neck's on its way!
Any recommendations for tuners and or any other work to be done ?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. this is what I found on amazon if applicable? :
- Tuner - Hipshot, Ultralite Clover, 1/2" Bass, chrome, Orientation: Bass Side

The USA ones have "USA" marked on the part, which these appear to have in the picture (under the word "Hipshot"). These look like the matte finish body ones, not shiny, but that is up to your choice or preference. Thanks for the reply,
I think these are shipped from the US
Let me post what I am exactly looking at

Did a little more searching and found this which does look similar (aesthetically) to the one installed on the white bodied bass higher up on the thread.
The neck:
Fender® Jazz Bass® Neck - Roasted Maple - 9,5" - 20 Frets, 0990702920
The bass is a J Bass MIM

That white bass was mine. I don't have it anymore but wish I had held onto it! Also, if I could do that one again, I would spend a little more for the shiny tuners and not those dull chrome ones. But again, that is a matter of personal preference.
I went with the Gotoh 528 Res-O-Lite tuners. They’re almost as light as the Hipshot Ultralite, but they have more of a classic design. Still no neck dive, and this bass has a VERY lightweight body.
