The Fiesta Red body has the old 60s type routing, but no large hole under the pick guard and no brand on top that says "Road Worn. The Sunburst RW is the IDENTICAL body to the 70s reissue Mex Jazz,, but done in Nitro and not what they do the 70s bass. The RW SB has one of those big holes under the pick guard and it is branded deeply on top, "Road Worn," so if you want one of these and like to play with no pick guard, get a Fiesta Red, not a SB. I bought a SB and in person the finish was ugly and I like to play my basses with no pick guard, so I sold it. Here is my fretless. IT is a SB Highway One with a 60s Reissue neck, Antiquity II pups and it sounds AMAZING!

Fender Road Worn Jazz bodies are different

A) If its a 60s RI neck (assuming you mean the MIM 60s Classic) why does it have the CS decal on it?
B) If they were using the 70s RI body for it, wouldn't it have 70s spacing? Also the 70s body does not have the channel route between the neck pickup and the control plate, but it does have a small CNC hole.
C) They use the same body for both of them. You can look at the Fender parts lists on their website.
D) It looks like there is some wood glue or something dripping from your relic job.

Oh how terrible. I don't care about that. I care and how it sounds. Every top bass player who has played my bass loved it and offered to buy it. It iis light, sounds amazing, has a killer vibe and the harmonics are insane. I don't think you read everything either as it was NOT about my bass. I just put the photos up for the hell of it. IF there is something dripping, it just adds to the whole thing for me. I was not asking for critiques on my bass. Once again, read what I wrote. Do you think Jaco worried about smears or runs on his bass?

This is how I am. You say the post is not about your bass but really it is as you say how much better it is and then show photos.
If there is a difference in bodies that is what should be shown not your bass.
(Note: NOt that I have any problem with your bass I would just like to see what you are complaining about)

Ouch this is a painful relic if ever I saw one. What is the luminous blob doing there? Also how would a bass guitar sustain so much wear on the lower bout, even with the pickguard removed? What part of your playing style would result in larger lateral movements eroding the finish down there?
I wouldn't normally complain but your thread is about one thing and your pictures are about something else? How about I just make a random post about something here then post a few pics of my girlfriend at the bottom?
I had the Road Worn Jazz in SB as well, and it didn't have any routing under the pickguard. It did have ROAD WORN stamped into the body though. I too like the guard off(on a 60's style Jazz), and it looks out of place with the stamp. Nice basses though...
This might be a dumb question, but what are the four circular "things" between the bridge pickup and bridge? They look like metal inserts of some kind to me, but I can't think of what they would be for. Thanks!
In the early 60's they had mutes under each string. Those are the screw holes where they would be.
why would they be on this HWY 1 jazz bass body?
