you are likely correct. The simplified schematic shows preamp feeds the xlr signal.

Fender Rumble 100 watts v3. Is it worth it?

Hey AstroSonic, just picked up a rumble 100 and want to do the mods that I did to the 40 - need help with the port tubes tho. Any ideas on the length to cut some tubes for the 100.

Remind me which driver you want to use (if you have selected one), or some idea of the tone you are interested in.
The Beta you mentioned sounds good or I can stay with the Delta lite 2512 as I used the 2510 in the 40. You mentioned the higher volume with the Beta so I am leaning that way.

The Beta 12a II will offer classic bass guitar tone in the Rumble 100 cab, tuned to 50 Hz. Using both ports, the length is 8 5/8 inches. Using a single port, the length is 3 1/4 inches. I think there might be a problem with pipe resonances in the mids for the 8 5/8 inch ports. A single port is plenty - no chuffing.

the S2010 models impressively in the rumble 100 cab - flat bass response with an F3 of 58 Hz and excursion to spare. A bit more articulate and hifi than the Beta. 2 ports, 5 3/8 inches long: 1 port, 1 5/8 inches long. Again, no problem with a single port.

The 100 is fine for rehearsing, especially if one has access to bigger rigs when needed.
The 200 doesn't add much (140W by itself) unless connected to an added cab. This is what increases, deepens, and enriches the volume.

I'm obviously a little late for the party, but...I have 2 Rumble 100 V3's. I use a Peavey G Bass into a SansAmp BDDI, and then into the top amp input. I use a patch cable from the effects send of the top amp, into the effects return of the bottom amp, basically using just the power amp section of the bottom amp. The top amp controls whatever comes out of the bottom amp, sort of like GK's MPB cabs, at a MUCH cheaper cost. It's a 200 watt 2X12 rig, and it is PLENTY of power for any club, and outside gig. I swapped out the stock Chinese Eminence 12's, for 2-200 watt 12's, which really opened the amps up. Very happy with my rig.
I've owned my Rumble 100 for over a year now. It is a completely giggable amp that sounds great. It will compete with a drummer and guitarists at bigger venues, but you will be pushing it. I played a few big gigs with it and had to push it to hear myself. I did have it on a step stool and it was a big venue with good FOH. Trying to hear the amp with everyone in the band having monitors as well as amps was a bad idea. Playing smaller gigs and practices with the band it performed flawlessly and I really love this amp. I am going to buy an amp stand to tilt the amp towards my ears so I can hear it better. For $300 you cannot beat it!
I bought one, and absolutely love it. Plenty of power for the gig's I'm doing. It's lightweight, Sounds great. I used to despise . . . Lugging around heavy gear. It became a Drag (and turn-off) to perform live. This amp is Fantastic. It honestly exceeded my expectations & I Highly recommend-it. I use it with a Sterling Stingray SS-4 Bass.
A 12 inch speaker and a set of drums will not cut it for gigs or practice. Save your money for a better rig ;

When I bought my Rumble 500 I was in a band with a ham fisted drummer who never had a good appreciation for dynamics. It worked great for that.
For the last few years the group I'm in is bass/guitar/cajon and since I run my Rumble DI into the PA I don't have to turn that Rumble up very loud. Our guitarist owns a Rumble 100/12" speaker and it works great in this lineup. I'm considering "downsizing" but I'm just so cheap
My opinion is if you're starting out the Rumble 100 would be a great starting point for the $$.

It sure is LIGHTWEIGHT.....and does a DECENT job!! If you ever deside you want to UPGRADE it....Replacing the speaker is uber easy and it's detailed here on TB under "Replacing the speaker in the Rumble 100"
I put in the Eminence Neo...and the sound became improved dramatically. Cleaner, clearer on the E and A strings no distortion at higher volumes...generally higher quality.
It now weighs 20.4 lbs....silly light.
If it's meeting your needs, stock...Perfect!!
I actually own the Rumble 200 also...and switch back and forth between the 2.
