Fender Rumble 25 vs Ampeg BA 108

Just from the research I’ve done, it depends on how you play and what you play. If you play more slap, funky, fast stuff the Fender Rumble would be good for you. Obviously, if you play with a fender, the fender amp(because that’s a more jazzy bass) would be good for you. The Ampeg BA is more for deep low mellow sounding basses and bassist. Just depends on what YOUR sound is. Hope this helped!

OP posted over a year ago and said they bought the Rumble.

I have had both. The feel of both are totally different. The Fender is sleek and the Ampeg is a tank. You can feel the difference just picking them up. The Ampeg just feels weighty and heavy in your hand. Being a first five fret guy,. I look for strong mids and lows. That is where the Ampeg shines. Now up the neck look to the Fender. I gave my Fender away after trying an Ampeg at a music store. An Ampeg 108 is my practice amp in my studio. I also use an Ampeg 210 for a small church weekly gig. Ampeg fits my style.

went to a guitar center with my gf to pick up a fender rumble 25 for practicing.. we were pretty set on it since we both hold fender in high regards and always see it recommended. we decided to try the ampeg for fun at the last second and to our surprise both of us thought it unquestionably sounded better. "clearer" or "cleaner" would be how we would both describe it. In comparison the rumble sounded a bit muddy no matter which settings we chose. we also found the overdrive button pretty useless on the rumble when we tested it. the wedge design, pad button, and aux adjusters on the ampeg are just gravy. we tested primarily with a fender jazz bass, finger and slap.
