I’m running on a $200 dollar amp budget. Looking for a deep low mellow sound for a flatwound strung bass. I’m just playing at home with only occasional jam sessions with a guitarist who has a 15w line6.

40 would be louder but lt25 has amp modeling and effects built in so more fun home noodling. If no drummer and just guitar guessthe lt25 would work but not sure. There is also the rumble25 if just want small amp and no modeling/effects. Love my studio40 (r40 with the modeling/effects) for home noodling by myself.

Get the 40. You will enjoy it more.

  4. Another option...
Get the $100 Rumble 25, and a Zoom B1on pedal for $70, which will give you amp modeling, tons of effects, a drum machine, a looper, a tuner, and quiet portable headphone practice without the amp, if you want it.

My flatwound strung basses into my Rumble 40 sounds really good. I have no experience with the LT25

I briefly played the LT25 this past weekend. I feel the Studio 40, for just a lil more money, offers better bass response overall. Just has a lil more power, and headroom available. If able to try it out before buying, I'd recommend that.
