The Rumble 500 is made by Fender, not Ampeg. I would imagine parts are available. I'd suggest you contact Fender and ask.

Take the amp to a qualified tech (not your friend who thinks they’re a tech because they read some stuff on TGP, watched an hour of YouTube and can handle a soldering iron without burning the house down).
They’ll be able to let you know if a economically viable repair is possible.
