Fender Rumble 800 Combo Thread for the NEW 2022 800 Combo

I’ve done over 140 gigs with my 800 in the last 13 months of owning it, never had any clipping issues. Active or passive Basses, octave and filter pedals hammering it too in a few tunes a night. Been a real solid amp.

This is my experience as well as a matter of fact I'm on break on a gig right now in a hotel casino it's not making any noise it's not clipping and we're playing pretty loud without F.0.H

With many folks, once I point it out, they can't unhear it. It's possible some don't do it...?

The XLR post di is super hot if you use any gain knob. For iem use I have gain all the way off. I don’t recall hearing clipping with the amp although the most I ever turned up was the master at 2 o’clock.

I am using mine for NYE and then a quick turnaround NYD show so I will focus in to hear any possible clipping.

Well, I did hear clipping…that was from post-Di to mixer which sends an aux mix to my iems. But…when I turned gain down it was still plenty hot and no clipping. I wonder if adding that second gain stage just makes issues…the post-di while sounding great is much hotter than any DI I own (bass driver v2/warm audio active/lr baggs stadium).

With the gain up to noon and just through the amp speakers I didn’t hear any clipping.

Sounds like it might be a line level instead of mic/instrument DI output. That would clip most mic inputs on a mixer for sure.

The DI is very hot when using the "post" option (which sounds pretty good, I must say, once you turn get the levels right)

I use a -20db or -30db XLR Pad from the DI Out into my personal mixer.

This demonstrates just one of the reasons why I started on bass in '67 and have never regretted not starting on guitar. I'd MUCH rather be the one bass player in the band than one of multiple guitarists.

Ya know, I wonder how many bassists feel this way. I thought the same thing and I bet many bassists do as well. It was also the reason I played goalie in hockey. There is only one on the ice. Though I don't know if it was a conscious or subconscious decision.

I started 6-string guitar (well, actually 5) in the early '60s just 'cause it was laying around at my grandma's house and nobody else touched it. Taught myself some chords, learned to play some simple songs by ear, then sang along. First guitar friend I played with liked playing lead and I liked rhythm. I never even saw a real bass guitar until our drummer friend brought his bass friend. Well, he owned a bass, but didn't really understand how to play it. I had to teach him the 1-5 with short walks for nearly every song! But I liked strumming and singing too much to switch until my college days. But that was great fun! Teaching myself current pop bass lines, like "Let The Sunshine/Age of Aquarius" and "I Feel the Earth Move", for a 10-voice singing group was a great kick!! I always tried to sing along to myself, but can still only coordinate with the simpler bass lines.

Mine was dead quiet. Every 800c I tried did, however, have a terrible clipping issue when master and gain were up. They're pretty flawed, which is a shame because there's so much potential with these units. The 500c, although much darker than the 800c, outperforms every time.

Has anybody else experienced this clipping issue? It seems strange that every 800 you tried (how many?) had it yet no one else shares your experience.
I might have missed the comment where you explained the settings and how you heard the clipping. You saying they're pretty flawed is quite the accusation.
Do you think it's the different speaker in the 800 that distorts when pushed?

Seems like most folks haven't noticed it. I will just note again, I purchased one in Montana. Then returned it. Happened to be in LA a few months later and noticed it at a guitar center, too. Seems like it's a thing. I wish I could point it out to you all. My sound tech noticed it for sure.

As you can see, I have been playing with the Markbass set for some time, the one in the photo is the latest model... it is light, because the column has a power of 800 W and weighs only 16.5 kg. Overall, I was a fan of this company... I played on these sets for several years, only on the previous models.
but since I was moving around a lot, I started looking for something strong but even lighter :} and I must honestly admit that when I heard the rumble 800 live, the sound quality, weight and size really shocked me..
and when I took it to work it passed the test 100%. The sound this little killer made was simply great... I was very impressed, I don't regret a penny of the purchase... and I found even more information about it because I read all 22 pages of your posts :} } Thank you and that's all :} that's all, once again I would like to welcome all users of this wonderful bass set... aha... I didn't even have to add another speaker to the set for a moment :}} }

So you went from a 4x10 to a 2x10 without issues? I suppose you had PA support in that venue?
