Fender Rumble 800 Combo Thread for the NEW 2022 800 Combo

Hows everyone liking the 800 so far after owning it a while now , i have a Traynor SB112 that feels alot heavier than the new 800 , was thinking about getting this Rumble, your thoughts so far ? I know theres alot of watts differance , i would guess the 800 alone would still be a alot louder than the Traynor at 200 ?

If the drivers moved the same amount of air (doubtful, but somewhat close), the 800c puts 400W (at full rating) into the 2x10 drivers (an 8 Ohm load).
The SB112 puts 200W (at full rating) into 1x12 driver (a 4 Ohm load).
The approximate difference is around 3dB - noticeable, but not by much.

You need input from whatever people have played both combos in similar gig type scenarios.
There is a Traynor page on here somewhere, maybe ask there as well.

I'll try to link the group in here in another post.

I have had the 800 combo for a while now. Played probably 50 gigs with it over the past year and a half. Sounds so good…a little more hi-fi than my previous 100 and 200, but you can warm it up with some tweaks. The XLR sounds great but I keep the gain low or off when using it since it can get very hot and clip the board if not. Very happy with the amp…add a mute and tuner and it is the perfect gigging machine at a featherweight of 29 pounds and having the balls to play over a loud drummer or without pa support for small/medium venues.

Lets face it. Squier has been releasing much more interesting designs than Fender for a while.

I’ve just had this reply from a Zsolt about running both editors:

The public version of the FIEditor4 uses its own directory, so both editors can be used at the same time on the same PC. The only restriction is that they cannot use the same MIDI device at the same time, due to Windows MIDI rules.

I heard a decent recording of the Orange OBC-112, I would no longer recommend that cab.
It's not terrible, but there are better cabs for about the same money, like the RevSound RS112.
I've been thinking of getting a mark bass MB58R since it's so light and can handle the power. but keep hoping fender announces a lightweight rumble 210 cabinet at NAMM

I'm looking for information about the Rumble 800 combo s FX Send level, please.

Does anyone here "chain", or otherwise connect, their R800c's FX Send to the FX Return of another amp? If so, can you get a fully loud volume from the Returning amp? Or does it seem limited to a lower volume level than the Returning amp can get on it's own?

I am new to this thread, but after reading it from start to finish, I can deduce that the FX loop seems to run more at line level than instrument level.

Do the covers for the 200/500 Rumbles fit the new 800 combo ?

Yessir, the R800c is the same dimensions as the R200c, R500c, Rumble Stage 800 and the 210 cab. So, the same covers will fit all 5! Although the covers made specifically for the 210 have cutouts for the side handles, where the combo covers have cutouts for the top handle.

I know it's light but why doesn't the combo also have side handles? Does that ruin the tone?

Tradition! Even the very heavy 7ender guitar combo tube amps only have a single top handle. Besides, the solid metal side handles add weight. That's probably the main reason the 210 cab weighs more than the combos do.

Side handles don't ruin the tone of the 210 cab. So, they shouldn't do so for the combos. I've heard of someone adding side handles to their combo, and casters, too! They had no complaints about the tone.

I finally got around to testing this out. I connected the effects send from my Rumble 800 combo (not stage) to the effects return of my Rumble 100. With the gain and volume on the 800 turned all the way down, the Rumble 100 produced a good home practice volume but not sufficient for most stages.

The Rumble 800 volume control appeared to have no effect on the 100 but the gain on the 800 affected the 100 volume. So with the 800 volume turned all the way down, the 800 gain acted as a volume control for the 100 with no sound from the 800. With the 800 gain up above 12 o'clock the 100 was quite loud with no perceived change in tone.

So was the 800 set to 100W? If so, is this the same as daisy chaining 2 R100s?
And did you also try it with the 800 set to 400W? I have both but haven't messed with doing any of this yet.

The 800 was set at 400 watts...didn't try it at 100. Others on here use a pair of 100s, but I think the two are properly volume matched when connected through the effects loops and none of the receiving 100 controls affect anything. Someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong on that,
