Fender Rumble and Suddenly Unplugging a Bass

I initially thought this but I had forgotten to account for the earth's rotation in my first equation.

Do you know if OP is in the Norther or Southern Hemisphere?

Yesterday we played a gig, and the bassist in our band suddenly unplugged his bass, connected to my Rumble 500 combo. This was done at gigging volumes (about 10am on the dial) and the sound produced when this happened was quite loud. How loud? I don't know. Had he slapped the strings, it also would have been loud. Should I be worried about speaker damage? Or does the Rumble have an internal limiter which may have kicked in?

Yes, iso, the Rumble does have an internal limiter which may have helped. But best not to do it too often.

Whilst not ideal for speakers to have that instrument pop, the odds of it doing real, lasting damage to the speaker should be quite low, especially if it's only the once that it happened

Just upgrade your bass player, and the amp will be fine

We're a trio and I am actually the guitarist/singer. But the bass amp is mine and I provided it for the show. It's so powerful and lightweight that it's an ideal amp to take to gigs. It's weird - it feels like a feather compared to my tube guitar amp and 2x12 cab. And my cab has neo speakers. Still, the Rumble 500 is easier to lug around. Technology has come a long, long, way!

Of course they're round, don't be silly.
... although my Saturn did have a flat tire at one time...I was just around Uranus the other day....Mars is a candy bar...... Venus can play tennis....I don't know, I give.
