Cost is the only reason. I have no use for speakons whatsoever, and much prefer 1/4" phone plugs.
Cost and real estate. There are not many other amps in that price point other than hartke and carvin. The pf350 and pf500 don't have the same horsepower and feature set either. All the extra features, overdrive, vintage, compression and speaker simulation on XLR etc... Best tone/features in the price/power point, and extremely modest power rating (sounds like more watts).
Just an opinion, but the R and D alone is worth cutting corners a bit to not include the speakon vs raising price $50-100 to redesign for speakon. Once 2 jacks are involved in a micro, speakons take more room than 1/4". Real estate, location location location.
Just be careful when hot plugging, they can shock you since they are double hot bridged. But I like that feeling when I plug in and out while a note is ringing, to verify my 112 is getting juice under my 200c

I figured it was a cost issue. Like I said, it just seems odd that the cabs would have a Speakon input, but the combos and heads only have 1/4" outputs... Just an observation. I SERIOUSLY doubt adding a Speakon would raise the price even $5.00 dealing with wholesale / economies of scale, but I am certain they are designed / built to a price point. They almost have to be.
For me, I consider the speakon advantage to only be the inability to accidentally yank a cable out of the back of the head. Pretty sure that is a non issue for most people, including me. Although I can see if the stage is laid out where audience, or bar staff whatever, can mill around behind gear this could be a potential problem.

In some ways I'd rather have the plug get pulled out rather than having the head pulled off the cabinet.
For the last few weeks I thought my 200c/112 had met its match, carpeted room,.guitarist upgrading from line6 to a 60w 212 blackstar, and cranking the tubes.
Felt I was struggling to keep up. Master at 2 gain at noon, above noon-2 range on low and high mid and treble, bass hovering around noon and tweaked as needed, hot studio no AC, rumble fan kicking in hard (hadn't ever tripped the auto fan in the amp all this time before that).
Then last practice my sound was fading a bit here and there. I tweaked around the pedalboard, and the wrath of Wotan was unleashed! I had a bad cable, the plastic boss ones that come with the bcb-3. Still works.but needed a.jiggle to let all the signal through.
Master down back to noon! The rumble 200 is still sounding like a 300-350w amp
Gig tonight, riverside California with system of a down tribute, opening for the premier rage tribute in the area. Should be fun, except for the Friday traffic from Hollywood to riverside. (Ack, have to take the new female unit to an obligation in the other direction first)

This has merit. The Rumble heads have to be a certain size to fit the Rumble Attachment System on the cabinets.
I know "area"refers to LA, but approximately how may rage tribute acts are there out there?

You can do even better. 2 550c each with a 2x10 extension ganged together. That's like 1000 watts through 8 10s.

If you are going to go that route, and remember it's all about moving air, do 2 500 heads into 4 410 cabs... But the results might be painful...

I'm sure you guys have seen those pics of bands with a full wall more or less of fake Marshall stacks...
Kind of makes me want to pick up some silver grill cloth, some fender logos, tolex, and plywood, get busy with building a fake Fender Stack wall...

The 200 and 500 have tweeters. The rest do not.
I'm not sure I could get away with a "wall", but I am still thinking about building an app stand that looks like a Rumble cab but is actually a storage cabinet for cables pedals etc.

I don't know if you've seen it but there is a pic on this forum (trying to remember where) of an Ampeg 'refrigerator' cabinet that someone made into an actual refrigerator.
