No, you just go from the effects send from your primary amp to the effects return of the other. Just that simple. There is a graphic showing that hookup somewhere here in this thread. Maybe @G-Dog has it on his wiki Rumble page. Fender Rumble Club | TalkBass.com

Excellent advice and much appreciated. I listened to what everyone was saying and ended up with the 40 (on the condition that I have 60 days to return it for an upgrade if I wish).

So it's official...Thanks everyone.

FWIW: I'm old school so brand loyalty means a lot to me and I always knew that my 1st real bass amp would be a Fender. As a matter of fact, all of my equipment will always be Fender whenever possible. I just love this brand!

Yes, but then you have one 500 watt amp, and one 100 watt amp - a 600 watt combo that can only output 450 watts.

Another choice would be to have two Rumble 100 combos for a flexible 2x12" 200-watt setup. If you want to practice or need something for a small venue, you could take only one 100. And if you need the extra power, you could take the second 100. I'd bet the dual 100 can be just as loud as a single 500. I think you could start with a single 100 and let your future necessities determine if you need anything else.

Hi sekk_sekk, I own both the Rumble V3 100 and 500 (and also the 210 cabinet).
I also owned the V3 40 for a while but returned it because I could get a V3 100 for just EUR 25 more.

IMO: the 100 works fine for home practice, also at low volume. Considering the price differences, I would pay a bit more and get the 100 instead of the 40. I like having a bit more power and bottom end. It will also work for smaller gigs.
Also considering the price: I would get the 500 and not the 200. Unless you really like the 15" sound. For relative few EUROs you would get much more power.
I would not recommend getting 2 100s, it would be more expensive than 1 500 and you would have less power.

Regarding sound: the 100 is way more than adequate for home practice but the 500 can also be used for it, there is a volume knob and it works perfectly. The 500 has more bottom, also at lower volume levels.
The pitfall may be you are tempted to turn up the volume and that might not be what your family and neighbours will appreciate.

It really depends on what you want regarding sound, gigging plans and costs. Good luck deciding :)

Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club @AREA. I used to own that very mini-stack. It was killer in every way. If you can't find another V2 Rumble 112, I would go with a pair of V3 Rumble 112's if you want to keep the small footprint and lightness. Good Hunting to you! :thumbsup:
