I'm curious about this, if you connect a external preamp just in the effect return input, controlling gain and master volume with that preamp, is it safe or is it possible to damage the rumble?Made that mistake with my Rumble, thru the Aux input. No volume control.
I always assumed there'd be a vol. control using the Effects Return.

However, this diagram shows the Master being too early in the signal to have any control over the FX Return volume.
well, the stage 800 is amazing. i absolutely love it!
here's my overview video of a few settings....it's a long video lol but i go through 5 of my basses with it:
hope it helps anyone looking into these!
Really showcases the extreme versatility of Fender's new digital bass platform with both passive and active basses in a multitude of styles. Good playing too!
Thanks for taking the time and posting.
Totally safe. Been done tons of times. Usually gives the experimenter a new profound appreciation for Fender Rumbles.I'm curious about this, if you connect a external preamp just in the effect return input, controlling gain and master volume with that preamp, is it safe or is it possible to damage the rumble?

Then there is no need to consider much less chase after complexity.I tend to like simplicity and stuff.
There are three 1x15 Rumble combos: 1) the original Rumble 100 introduced in 2003 with the now famous flashing disco lights; 2) V2 Rumble 150 introduced in 2010, and 3) V3 Rumble 200 introduced in 2014. All three have been used effectively in small venues (100 souls) without any PA support. Only on TalkBass do you need 500 watts and an 8x10 fridge + PA support in order to play inside a watercloset for 3 people.Lets hear some more from ones that's gigged the 200 combo , I am satisfied it should work with small bands , medium handed drummer , love to hear your experiances playing out , with out PA support on the amp , no extra cabs , a friend of mine gigs constantly at these small bar type gigs with what I think is a older rumble 115 , guessing it is 150 watts, ?? works great , but of course its a different amp , so not sure if its more efficient than the V3,s , lets hear the gigs stories , Thanks![]()
100 and 150 neither combo was capable of adding an extension speaker cabinet as the Rumble 200 is.What was the wattage on the old ones?
Used the R200c today: open air(peaked "ceiling") restaurant, maybe 800+ sq. ft.,gain @10, volume @ 10-ish, no problem covering the space. Guitar, bass and drums. No PA support. Lots of headroom.Lets hear some more from ones that's gigged the 200 combo , I am satisfied it should work with small bands , medium handed drummer , love to hear your experiances playing out , with out PA support on the amp , no extra cabs , a friend of mine gigs constantly at these small bar type gigs with what I think is a older rumble 115 , guessing it is 150 watts, ?? works great , but of course its a different amp , so not sure if its more efficient than the V3,s , lets hear the gigs stories , Thanks![]()

I really like my Rumble 200 combo. It gives me the sound I want and the volume I need for every situation I might encounter. All with the classic professional good Fender looks.Used the R200c today: open air(peaked "ceiling") restaurant, maybe 800+ sq. ft.,gain @10, volume @ 10-ish, no problem covering the space. I have had a Rumble 150 v2 for maybe 6 years now. I have played regularly at a venue that is about 10000 sq. ft. and seats over 150. I have played on stage standalone several times in a church that seats 350 with a drummer that thinks rimshots should sound like an M16 going off next to your ear. I have successfully taken it outdoors a few times until I was able to get some heavier hardware.
