Fender Rumble Club

hey guys, hoping someone can help me.

So i just got my new rumble 800 today and it's great. I can't connect bluetooth becuase the app tells me ive got to update amp firmware first...so i set up wifi correctly, have the green dot, and i'm on my network with good signal strength.

when i try to update firmware, i get an error saying "WIFI NOT CONFIGURED" and that's it. no idea why it's saying this, as i'm connected to my network!!

any help!?

Sounds like that is an intermittent issue which is affecting some Rumbles, but no GT's, so far. They haven't quite nailed down the final fix, but if you try again, it should work.

I have owned a GK 800RB, and MB800, and currently own a 1001RB. I love GK amps- they are clean, reliable, and powerful. They sound great too. They do have a different sound than the Fenders, more modern to my ear. I love my Rumble as well, and it has a voice all its own- especially with the Vintage setting engaged. Lots of fat mids and a real classic, vintage kind of tone. I wouldn’t say that one is better than the other, as they really are two completely different animals in my opinion.

Yeah I happen to agree with u now.
But when I comes to slap, I think the gk cuts thru more with the higher highs, even though it sounds significantly scooped.

Happy Fender Friday!

Rumble family,
I am nearing completion on this mix. I am getting notes from various pros about the bass tone. We are going for a 70s P Bass rock vibe - for which the Rumble is fantastic. I brought up the high mids a bit during the verses so you can hear more of the fret noise during those parts where the guitars are more modulated and less aggressive. I feel that bringing up the high mids any more would make it sound more 90s and far less 70s. I know we should go with what we want, but looking for some learned opinions from people that care about bass tone and have been around since music was actually really good. :) This is the second song where different pros have commented that the vibe was cool but they preferred a more modern bass sound. I say pros be damned, we do what we want.
Thanks for any feedback.

I like it overall. Snare is way too prominent. Bass & Kick are buried. You need to dig them out and put them on display. That will drive the tune better. Vocal could come down a bit. Part of it is that it is just screaming and no actual singing.

That’s where you’re wrong. Jamerson died three years before they made their first appearance. On the other hand - maybe that’s where the Funk Machine went? :wideyed:

According to Wiki, "A.C., Beebop (drums), Stretch (bass), and Red (guitar/piano)". In order to be politically correct, Stretch and Red had to play Fenders, especially for Heard it through the Grapevine, IMHO :D.

If you want a certain bass sound, that's what you should go for. I don't like "the bass" to sound like a guitar down an octave, I want it to be the basE as well as basS.
