+1 Dave is pretty amazing, and very underappreciated in the bass amplification world, IME/IMHO. :thumbsup:

Deep Rumble Thought of the Day:
​
Take one each Fender Rumble Stage 800 combo and add:
  1. Two Stage 210 cabinets :jawdrop:
  2. From each stereo effects send to a pair of powered PA speaker set as a monitors :D
  3. Daisy chain additional powered monitors to encircle the stage :p
  4. Play Fender Bass as if it were the very Voice of GOD! :nailbiting:
  5. Shoot soundman the bird! :whistle:

Stereo low freq's can cause weird phasing issues. Meaning Bass not sound so good.

I'll agree that Dave Lewis is amazing! I love my Rumble 500 combo. Never been disappointed with it, and with the 1X15 Rumble cabinet hooked up, there's nothing I can't handle with it. 99 percent of the time though, it isn't needed. Fender hit a home run with these IMHO.

so, anyone with the rumble 800 (or 500 too i guess) find themselves turning off the horn more often than not? i was all pumped for getting a horn, since my previous rig was a gallien krueger backline 600 head with a 1970's sunn 4x15 monster of a cab, but it had no horns. i always figured the freqs i were lacking were due to lack of a horn, but after getting this bad boy and seeing how much the 2x10's boom and how much more high end freq they have than my40+ year old 15's, i turn the horn off a lot. the horn really produces super high freqs that don't sound too good with my stingray and other basses, so i end up just turning it off. but damn, this amp is sweet.

Folks have measured the frequency response including the HPF so it is not quite a mystery. The answer is in this thread. The HPF is the drop off on the low end of the red trace on the graph below. -3 dB appears to be just north of 40 Hz.

Hi @JKos .. As you asked if I could measure the 'Line Out' and 'Headphone' output compared to the 'Effects Send' and as you can see the line out and headphone offers near identical result apart from the line out (XLR) being rolled off at the low end.
Blue via effects send, Red via XLR (line out), Yellow headphone out. Black reference signal.
All tone controls at 12 o'clock. You can see that considerable 'scoop' or bass and treble boost has been applied to the line and headphone outputs. Wasn't expecting that.. Hope you find this useful :)

After reading the poop sheet (OK,going Back and reading),I don't use the horn on the R200C or the R112 extension. It's "cleaner" without them.:D

I hear a lot saying they sound crisper and clearer. I heard them and... it pains me to say but they (slightly) are. It’s not a huge difference. U only really notice when u hear them side to side differences.
Who here in the club has tried the GKs and who still recons the rumbles are better?
I feel the rumbles are better cos they have more features at a cheaper price than the gk. The rumble has a punchier mid range, but the gk sounds a bit clearer. It has a better tone for slap. But for fingerstyle u can really use either one.
The gk is also same weight, and there 100 watt combo has a 1 10 speaker as opposed to rumbles 1 12 speaker, and is still slightly louder than the rumble.

I’m not bringing this up to put down the rumble, it is still my fav combo amp. I’m just wondering what other people think about this. I personally like the tone of the rumble more, even if it sounds slightly more muddy when heard back to front with the GK

Like I said, unless u play through these two amps back to front, its not a big difference though. The Fender still has great tone, and it definitely has value on its side for sure!

The rumble still seems to amaze people and rock their world and there is so much talk about them! Despite the Gallien Krueger’s slight advantages, I have heard very little about the GK mb combo compared to the stream of good reviews and happy customers the rumble has. So...

Who has tried the gk mb’s here and what are their thoughts?

I have owned a GK 800RB, and MB800, and currently own a 1001RB. I love GK amps- they are clean, reliable, and powerful. They sound great too. They do have a different sound than the Fenders, more modern to my ear. I love my Rumble as well, and it has a voice all its own- especially with the Vintage setting engaged. Lots of fat mids and a real classic, vintage kind of tone. I wouldn’t say that one is better than the other, as they really are two completely different animals in my opinion.
