Adding the extension cab performs just as you would expect, namely, the sound/tone stays the same (with the expected bump in perceived low end, especially considering that I had the horn padded down on the extension 210), and the overall volume was significantly more than I needed. Getting the Stage 800 up higher definitely helped, as well. Unless I was doing something more intimate, I would most likely always gig with the extension cab, so that I have more volume/headroom on tap, and to get the combo up closer to my ears.
