Fender Rumble Club

So, I did ask, and here are the deets according to Fender:

"The simple answer is the 115 cabinet was designed to match the footprint and complement the 410 with both supporting the Rumble head models. The 210 and 112 extension cabs with footprints matching the combos launched later to support both the combos and the heads, and having unique speaker complements for our cabinet offerings was preferred rather than 2 (size) versions with a 1x15."

Thank you, very much, TomBowlus! I'm sure everyone here appreciates getting the straight story direct from the manufacturer, even if the answer is not what some would want to hear.

:)

Was ask to come here because I play through a Rumble 40 watt now instead of my 250 Twin 10 in. I still go direct into our PA and use it more like a monitor. I changed the 10 out with an Eminence 100 watt 10....way better now and it doesn't hurt the amp. I love the push button EQ with Bright...Contour and Vintage. Never use the over drive though. You can tweak this little thing all day long.

Hey, @Gravedigger Dav! I bet @leerod054 would like a membership number for his speaker-upgraded Rumble 40.

That makes sense. Thanks for the info!

Very cool, Sissy! I totally understand. But, if your pro isn't averse to the advertising, we'd love to see a custom tuner cab built to attach to the Rumble magnetic system. You didn't say, but I assume they'll put cups and magnets on the top of the tuner cab to "attach" the head?

BTW, I don't see you having posted here before today. If you'd like to join the Club, we'd love to have you. Just say so, and @Gravedigger Dav will be around with your membership number.

Yes cups, feet, metal plate under the cabinet and magnet on top. I don't know how good the match for the feet and cups will be, I've only spoken on the phone so far. The cups shouldn't be difficult at all; getting feet that size might be an issue, but if I have to, I'll use a screw with a few washers to the correct size.

Welcome Rumbler #977! That was me inviting you.d Glad to see you made it over here. I have used my 100 as you describe but not my 40. That mainly goes to P&W gig on Thursday nights. I don't know what kind of music you play but if you should think about using the OD check out the Rumble Club wiki page. There is info that will help with that. It really is a good OD but takes a little experimenting to get what you want. It will go from a mild edge to total distortion. Runble on!

Nope, no bars nor clubs with smoking. More outdoor gigs than anything, and indoor bar smoking is illegal here in FL. It only did this after it sat in my air conditioned studio for about a year.

Heat might be a thing, but when I was using the amp a lot the knobs weren't like this. I have several plastic items that have gotten like this, a TV remote and even the air bag cover on the dashboard of my car. I guess some plastics just do this, but i can't figure out why me, twice, and no one else...
Humidity? It's dry here in Flagstaff.

Thanks, Tom. Your input is always welcome!

My question to Fender regarding their statement "having unique speaker complements for our cabinet offerings was preferred rather than 2 (size) versions with a 1x15." is, preferred by who? And no, I do not expect an answer...:rollno:.

the proper combination then would be a 4x10 and a 1x15

The local Fender dealer had a stack just like that, with a Rumble 500 head on top.
It did sound great, but I never put it to gig-level volume, especially since it was set up right in front of their counter.

I noticed this past weekend that they sold the 15", so now it's a 500 head on top of a 4x10" in the corner (w/o power).

New to the forum, so I apologize if this question has already been addressed. I am new to bass amps, but I'm considering getting a Rumble 100 or 200 for use with my 8 and 9 string guitars. All I know about either is the 100 is a 12" speaker and the 200 is a 15" speaker. A buddy of mine recommended trying a bass amp with my guitars and I have been impressed with Fender amps overall, but none of the stores in town have a Rumble combo for me to try. Can anyone recommend one over the other?

The 200c-which I have-is 140w with the internal speaker, 200w with an extension. The 100 is, well, 100w but doesn't have external speaker capability. Rumble wiki page can answer a lot of questions you might have. I only play bass so some guitar(also)players might have a bit more insight.

Thanks for that information. Are you happy with the 200 over the 100? Do you think the speaker size difference makes a difference in the mids/highs?

I'm leaning toward the 200 based on features, but want feedback in case the 100 may provide significantly better sound for my purpose. I really wish I lived closer to civilization in this case; at least a city large enough for a few stores where at least one would have both combos in stock.

You tube may have demo videos. I'm lucky enuff to live near 2 GCs, which are great for testing stuff out. I'm happy with my 200c. There's a trick about hooking up 2 100s that, if I'd known it, I might have gone that route. I've had my 200c since November of '15 and have No complaints.

What was your deciding factor for the 200 over any of the other similar sized Rumble cabs?
