Fender Rumble Club

I am waiting delivery on my 500 combo. I notice there is no clip light. Does the gain work like what I'm used to?
I generally boost until clip then back off a tad and go to my master to set level.
Hi jazzenfunk (member #297)
No. Think of the Gain as clean boost rather than a channel volume. You can have the gain all the way down and still get tons of volume from the master volume. Also the Gain effects levels of Overdrive and Vintage tone if selected. That's one reason there isn't a 'clip light'. Another is the fact that the built in Delta-Comp Limiter has a clip detection circuit and takes care of that for you. It's all in your owners manual. Enjoy!

All right, I demoed the 40...

Actually I went with the intention of getting it. I didn't even try the 100 because I didn't want my budget to be swayed. The 40 is still a practice amp but it comes very close to a full sized sound. I am sure with a little bit of knob twiddling I can even it out a bit more. It does not fart out on a low b, just not quite as deep as my v2 150, but that's to be expected. I am very pleased with it and here is a family photo.

I'm considering a pair of rumble 115 cabs (and the gk cx115 but can't find any info on that one).

But question is would the rumble cabs be capable of a nice tight (not boomy) low end and a nice presence of upper mids?

I play a PBass with flats mostly, all genres of bar band pop with either a GB shuttle 6.2 or a Carvin BX500.

Also, is this a sealed or ported cab? Thanks.

I'll take a number. I got my V3 500 head in the mail on Weds. Took it to practice that night, and have been A/B ing it with my other gear for the last few days.

Very impressed. Sounds great with my SG bass (fellow SG fan mrb327's comments made my mind up), and it has plenty of headroom. I wouldn't say I prefer the tone over my old Sunn tube head, but it's really hard to beat in terms of price, weight, and sound. And, I won't be afraid to take it on seedy bar or basement gigs.

Probably going to run it through my old JBL loaded Sunn 118s for the time being, but a local retailer has a Rumble 1 15 cab in stock. When I clear some funds up, I'll be looking to try it out.
