Fender Rumble Club

Very interesting. I have a Bassman 150 combo with 12" speaker that sounds very similar to my Bassman 250 combo with a 15" speaker. That's when I gave up my size-to-tone bias. The difference in tone these days are due to a whole lotta other things besides overall driver size.

That's not an apples-to-apples comparison. The 350 head does not have the same amp circuitry as the 200 amp. And, of course, the cabinets are different size and port tuning.

The 100 is smaller than the 200, which is smaller than the 115. Which did you think were the same dimensions?
Sorry, I shoulda written a complete sentence[junior high English class].IIRC, the 200c and 115 cab are the same dimensions. Better?:smug: (can't confirm on 7ender's site-I think) I used to have the specs written down but, since I don't need them, I tossed that piece o' paper out-and I'm too lazy to go look on 7ender's-or any other-site to check. Also, not being OCD[see pic of 200c/112]don't really give that big a ratza$$.

Correction: the 200c and the 115 have the same speaker, but the 115 is a bit bigger cabinet and, without the internal amp, has a larger resonance volume. Listed on the Rumble Club Wiki Page and confirmed on Fender's website.

See my edit above. <Addendum> At this stage of the game, I'm tempted to follow in the footsteps of certain VOX MV 50 BA owners(not really)

So Rumblers, just out of curiousity, I have a fun little question!

Here's the scenario:

A new rumble is released. Just for fun, let's say it's 400 watts at 8ohms. (and 800 at 4 ohms!)

This 400w rumble is available in two variations: a 115 speaker version, and a 210 speaker version.

Now... Which would you buy and why??? ;)

15 all day long. So much richer sounding to me. My G&L L2000 just cries out for fifteens.

Hmmm. I have been using 210 and 115 cabs my entire bass career and have never experienced farty speakers. I play a 500c and the 210 extension, and they sound full with thick bass - thin is not a word I would use.

Perhaps for those who never connected with 210 speaker cabs, I would suggest that you try putting a HP filter into the signal chain? I find it indispensable for my Ampeg and Fender cabs to get a deep, full, round bass tone.
AMEN ME BROTHER IN PLUCKING.

THAT IS TRUE FOR THOSE WHO REALLY HAVEN'T( shoot caps was on)
put 2x10's to the ultimate test. My band plays Pink Floyds Comfortably Numb and my twin 10's thundered out that low B with no issues. I find it best if you run 2 or a 4x10 top and a single ( or double) 15 cab is the best way to cover the full spectrum of sound. Tens with a Pizo give me the highs plus punch and the 15 more mids+ lows.My old big band stack was a crate 4x10's on top of 2x15's driven by a B2000 Ampeg. Those cabs hammered every venue I played.

Interesting. What frequency are you using on the HP filter? I have been looking at those.

My 2x10s will start to have issues playing say a B on the E string with pre and post sitting at noon. It seems like there's some resonance that happens and you can see the speakers really go nuts there. I always use the bass cut on my L2000 because the pups are really hot. I'm sure it's at least at half.

I find if I cut the low mid knob to about 10 o'clock I can reduce it. It's just weird to be playing where everything is good, then hit those notes and listen to speakers fart out.

I do so like what the 15 did for the sound though. So much deeper than the 2x10s.

Having owned both the 200c and 500c and even though I really liked the overall sound of the 200c for practice and rehearsals, I found the 115 to be be kinda boomy at giging volumes whereas the 500c with the 210's definitely sounds much more tighter and punchier to me. Far less requests from band members to turn up my stage volume. Never had a problem the 10's farting out. Just wanted to share my observations. As always RUMBLE ON!

I’ve got the 500c with the 1x15 extension cab. I like the 15 way more than the 2x10s. The 2x10s sound thin compared to the 15 and fart out far more quickly.

Thinking about trading the 500c for a rumble head with a second 1x15.

I owned both a 500C and a 200C at the same time - flipped the 500 and kept the 200 because I definitely preferred the sound of the 15" speaker of the 200 over the 10s in the 500... Instead of buying a Rumble 115, I held out for a decent deal on a clean Bassman 115Neo - it's a really nice cab...

Nice! I bet the bassman 115neo is really nice cabinet.

I’ve got a Broughton HP/LP pedal, and the HP is set at approximately 45-50 hz. Always turned on. You can really hear the difference, as the speakers seem to get louder as you reduce the low frequency - they also seem to get “tighter” (if that makes sense).

Today I spotted a V1 Tech21 SansAmp Bass Driver in the pawnshop & it got me curious.
I doubt I'll buy it, even though it was only $100. I did look at a SweetWater demo on YT & think I can accomplish all that on my Studio 40.

My mind is a tricky thing though & it got me thinking about the inputs on the Studio 40. As expected, you can plug your bass directly into the FX Return & Voila!; the natural sound of your bass w/o a pre-amp (if it's passive).
Turns out that with the Gain on zero & the Studio Pre-Amp engaged, it sounds the same through the Return as it does through the Input. Albeit, the volume is a bit lower through the Return, solved quickly by flipping on the pre-amp in my bass.
So my conclusion is that the new Studio Pre-Amp is more transparent than the old V3 Rumble pre-amp.

Pardon my ignorance, but I recently fell in love with the Rumble 100. The thing sounded fantastic! The Rumble series, in general, is the only amp series I’ve played through where I keep the eq flat and STILL giving me the sound I’ve searched for my entire playing career!

By question is, how can I hook 4 of them together? Do I use a TRS:

FX send from A to FX return on B, B-send to C-return, C-send to D-return? Do I have to go D-send to A-return for it to work? Does A act as a master volume AND tone?

Appreciate y’alls help!
