The 15 in it is not the best but not ripped or blown. Gonna pull it tomorrow and see the oz's of the magnet on there.

I own the Rumble 100...LOVED the size and weight as I'm 66 with a lousey back. After a while I did find the sound unsatisfactory...unarticulate....muddy...etc. I play electric Big Band bass with a G&L L2000. After MUCH research I decided the weakness in the 100 is a low quality speaker. (The low specs can be found posted by another helpful player before my entry ..it's actually a 75 watt speaker with a small voice coil ....etc..see below)I replaced the stock speaker with an Eminence Neo S2012..150 watts...2" voice coil... and lined the cabinet with 1/2" sonic barrier. WOWIE....What a difference. (See my entries under Replacing the Speaker in the Rumble 100....I give a step by step guide) Now every note on the bass speaks clearly and articulately. Still warm and wonderful...just a higher quality.... I also own the Rumble 200...which I love....it COMES with a high quality speaker which is great. I'll soon be lining THAT cabinet. The 100 now weighs 21.5 lbs.....the 200 weighs 34.5 lbs....
Wow I am surprised to hear this. I used only 15" speakers for decades until I bought my 500c. I loved the warm vintage tone so much I bought a 2X10 extension cabinet. I use the Vintage EQ curve and have to keep the bass at 12 o'clock and low mids at 10 o'clock or it's too boomy. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
I did the same thing in Rumble 40. Eminence 2010 speaker. Lined cab and also extended the ports to adjust
tuning for the better speaker. All mods laid out in that Fender Rumble 40 mod thread. Huge difference.
Can dime the volume and sounds loud and clear. Eventually add a jack plate, so I can use another backup
amp if needed.

Doc, I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't think the 12" speaker in the Rumble 100 combo is the same as the one in the (now discontinued) Rumble 112 cabinet rated at 250 watts continuous, 500 watts program. That'd be kind of a waste of about 60% of the combo's speaker capacity! I'd be surprised if even Fender is that conservative.
Although, we have heard here in The Club that the 15" speaker in the Rumble 200 combo is the same as the one in the Rumble 115 cabinet rated at 300 watts continuous, 600 watts program! That's only a waste of about 33% of the combo's speaker capacity. Must be within the economics of having different speaker specs.

Luckily that's what I paid for mine in November. ZZSounds had the best price at the time.

I find, it is somewhat muddy. Sometimes, depends on the room, and I can adjust my EQ, but it doesn't remove the problem alltogether.
Are any of the other rumble speakers like this, or only the R100 one? What speaker is in it, an eminence? Can Someone give me the model?
I really don't want to be swapping the speaker in it, it's a lot of work, and, I can only assume a lot of money aswell!

out of curiosity, what are some replacement speakers for the r100 that will still have that punchy rumble sound, just without the boom, mud, and with some extra clarity?
I thought so. Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Musicians friend and Sweetwater all show that they are no longer available. I ended up ordering one yesterday from American Music....I believe that it is a clearance sale price. They were $500 before. Now I'll have a shootout between the Rumble 350 and the New (discontinued) Rumble 500 on top of my newly purchased 115 Rumble Cabinet. One of them will not stay.....
I hate that feeling of "wanting" the newest, the best, the greatest... especially when I know for a fact I'm more a collector than a performer. Still, had I known the new 800 head was coming out I would have delayed my amp purchase in November for a bit. Of course my current setup is playing to a "room" of 1200 sq ft, so I'm pretty sure the 500 head sitting on top of two 210 cabs is more than adequate for the venue...
