Im back in the Rumble club! Not sure if I had a number from before but I sold my Rumble last year when I stopped playing bass. Im back and flirted with Ampeg and Blackstar recently, just sold the Blackstar and got the Rumble 500 again! Glad to be back.

I was comparing the U-500 & Rumble 500 combo yesterday & TBH I thought the Blackstar sounded better.

Just hearing too many stories of them failing, some on this forum. The Rumble series has been around quite a while and have a very good track record. I do like the variety of tones on the Blackstar, but at modest volumes. When I took it to rehearsal, it didn't sound good to me with the band. Its all digital and I can tell, just has that digital sound whereas the Rumble is completely solid state Class D and sounds more tube-like IMO. Just has a warmer, rounder tone to it. I also like all the options for extension cabs in the Rumble line too, Blackstar just has a 1x15 cab.

If I had two rumble 500 2x10 cabinets, and two rumble 500 heads. If I were to link those two together, would I have independent controls on both head and cabs?

It depends on how you run the cables. Which are you wanting, independent or master/slave? Independent means each amp has to be set separately. Master/Slave means you do all the EQ and volume from only one of the two amps.

Amazing how the Rumbles are so light and sound so darn good. Have a Rumble 40 for practice. Will be checking out the Rumble 200 for indoor/outdoor venues. Not only does it sound great, I can pick it up myself.

Here is my most awesome Fender rig... a Bronco Bass into a mighty stack of three Rumble 25s.
It is perfect for the bar gigs we do, in a nice compact footprint, vertical line array configuration.

Has anyone opened up a Rumble v3 410 cab and know what ohms rating the individual 10” speakers are? And/Or does anyone know what Eminence 10” bass speaker the Rumble v3 10’s are most similar to?

I asked Eminence (they're happy to take your questions). Reply was:


We commonly recommend our Delta-10B for this combo. It is a bit of an upgrade over the originals (larger voice coil and magnet). You will probably want to change both speaker so that they match sonically.

Do you use the same Zoom and homemade stereo connector hub of your 4 x Rumble 25 setup?

I have stacked all 4, but it starts to get a little unstable. And I find that three works just about perfect, in that it is loud enough, the top speaker is up where I can hear it well without it being right in the back of my head.

For the 3 Rumble 25 stack, I made a different mono hub. I'll see if I can remember to get a photo of it. I just use my bass into a tuner pedal into the hub to this stack.
