Gig last night 7 to 11. Home by 12:15, up at 6:45 for 9 to 12 gig this morning. 67 TBird/R200c on both-sounded choice. I'm gettin' too old for this (stuff).

Where are you playing at 9:00 in the morning?!

No issues. I just set it on our dining room table, plugged it in and put the earbuds in the headphones port, iPhone in the AUX. Sounded great!

Just got a Rumble 100 - how do you think that would fair in a typical rock rehearsal setting? Probably asked before, but it's tough to search 1700 pages for it!

My problem is that I'm not playing bass in a band yet - just about to audition for some and I have no clue how big of an amp the guitarist(s) will have or how hard the drummer is going to play. Am I going to completely embarrass myself when I show up with it, or do you think it will hold its own? I've got an amp stand, so at least I can tilt it towards my ears. The guy at Long & McQuade doesn't think it will be enough... but I take his advice with a grain of salt since I know he has a tendency to upsell.

I'm not concerned regarding shows since I've got the DI out.

Welcome Rumbler #1067! That is what I use my 100 for. If that isn't enough for a rehearsal space, they are way too loud. You should get a Mud stand or some kind of kickback stand to point the speaker up. Then, Rumble On!

Welcome Rumber #1068! I've been using my 40 with my Breedlove acoustic. I get compliments on the tone. Rumble On!

Rumble head question: I'm sure this has been asked/answered before but can you run a rumble head (500 or 800HD) without a speaker when using headphones i.e. does it provide a dummy load when no speaker is attached? Many thanks in advance

Welcome to talkbass @tomajoha. Yes you can use any Fender Rumble head for headphones with no speaker cabinets attached. In fact even if you did have a cabinet attached it would be deactivated the moment you plugged in your headphones. The same is true for all Rumble combos. A dummy load is only required with all tube amps with a tube power section. Some modern tube amps such as the Bassman 100t has this feature built in.

That's an easy one! With the introduction of the Rumble 800 head, Fender discontinued production of the Rumble 500 head. So Rumble 800 all the way.

Addendum> Might seem like a simple one trip load in/out. Nope. Also gotta take mic stand, music stand, 2 duffels (w/ cables, mic and accessories), amp stand and stool(bad knees). Usually 3 trips using a cart.

I can't believe they're still there.
I keep going back and forth between keeping my pair of 115s or replacing them with a pair of 112s.
The B string on my P5 makes me hesitate.
@GonePlaid and I did an A/B taste test, but I didn't have my Precision with me.

I'd keep your pair of Rumble 115s. I think they sound better especially for a low B. You got them at a very good price, and they are paid for.
