There are a couple of Geddy presets in the Stage 800 straight from the factory and there may be more available on the Fender Tone App.
To my ear, the Geddy Lee presets are a little too dirty. They may he right on with a drummer and guitar, but alone they sound a bit overly driven.
Tweak 'em any way you like or build your own. That's the real beauty of the Stage & Studio Rumbles.

Yep. That's what I love about the Stage 800. Tweaker's delight!
Interesting how differently we all can react to the same thing. I think, for what he is doing in that video, his tone is perfect. I am in awe of his technique, but I've never been a fan of lead bass. I know many really like it, but I prefer the bass to be a rhythm instrument rather than a lead instrument.

Of course, back in the early days when Rush were still playing clubs in the Midwest, I paid the cover (like $5) and could stand right in front of him, like I did for the Fly By Night tour stop at B'ginnings in the Chicago area.
Who knew how they'd wind up, decades later.

I was just sitting here deciding which pieces of gear I'm going to cull & the Rumble Studio is up next.
I do like it, but I just don't use it as often as I should.
TBH the Effects weren't really doing it for me, as many of you know already.
It was a cheap experiment for me & some of the models on there are damn good. I was just going through them all yesterday.
The truth is I don't need a modeling amp, I'm a very simple player with limited needs.
I'll continue to offer Rumbles when people ask for recommendations.
The little VOX I use every day is definitely not most bass player's cup of tea, but it hits my sweet spot.

I've found that my R40 and R200c(with occasional R112)are all I need or foresee needing for the sound I want. So while I read of the experiments and tweaks of the modeling amps, I'm unlikely to ever get one and totally see your viewpoint.
I could probably get by with less, but I use all my Rumbles.
25 #1 - practice amp.
25 #2 - available for drummer who uses it with his electic set
40 - Goes to P&W gigs
100 - Full band practice
500- Least used, but will use for tight spaces or smaller rooms. The head goes to gigs as backup to the Bassman 500
Bassman 500 - Normal gigging amp.

Does sound like he has some over drive on but to truely get his sound you would have to have his setup. Bass pickups.....type of strings being used....amp and settings. Just make your own sound brother as close to his as possible. I do know the mids are cut while he's playing.
Geddy usually doesn't use amps.
His strings are Rotosounds and a lighter gauge if I remember correctly. In his big book of bass he talks about the jazz basses he plays and i believe all the pickups are stock.

He's probably using a SansAmp, I mean Tech21 did make one specifically for him, probably based on his use of one of its predecessors.
My ears aren't that of a musician, but to me there are at least a couple of profiles on my Studio 40 that can cop that sound, two of which I noticed were Rockin' Peg + Bass OD.
The bass can make a difference, my bass is bright enough to pull it off.
