Just got my second Rumble, a Studio 40. I think I'm still waiting on a membership number though!! :)

Welcome Rumbler # 1099! This is a recurring problem I don't understand. I have this thread subbed and I still miss messages. Oh, by the way, stand up straight. You're about to fall over. Rumble on!

I loaded four Univox cabinets with Guangdong fifthteens and powered them with my Rumble 500c. It was supernatural. I was close to resurrecting Dickie Peterson and then my wife came home.

Howdy! Well, I have an opportunity to pick up a 200 for a good price. I know I am not about the 500 because I seem to prefer the single 15" sound wise (I use one in rehearsal and have tried to gig with it and probably just me but I just am not happy with how it sounds at any kind of volume).

The 200 I'm considering is about 5 years old but basically hasn't been used. Anything I should be on the lookout for?

My biggest concern (well aside from not being able to get it to sound like what I want) is that our drummer can get...loud. He knows he shouldn't but sometimes he just does. My current Music Man/EV 115 setup is plenty loud but the tubes are getting to replacement age and yeah, the whole thing is very heavy.

We are mostly playing small clubs/bars and I've heard Rumble 100s in some of the places we play and they sound fine from an audience perspective. So I'd think the 200 would be what I'm looking for...but nervous to buy without really having tested one in a gig situation...

Bottom line is you won't know til you try it unfortunately.
There are peeps in the club using the 200C successfully for practise/gigs though so it's probably quite capable. Rumbles are holding their value, if you get a good deal then it mightn't cost much to try it.
Good luck.

Well if you do get it let us know how it works out. 200c vs 500c for a loud drummer seems to be the question of the month!

Apologies if this has already been answered - the thread is long and the manual unclear- but is there a way to record with the XLR output of the Fender Rumble Stage 800, but with the speaker muted? Or is that possible with the usb out?

FWIW I used my rumble 40 last week XLR to FOH but with the speaker muted by plugging into the headphone jack - probably that simple in your case too I would think - let us know ;)

I've used mine in some pretty demanding(volume-wise)situations. Never had the volume over 1/2[Gain about 11?]. If you're getting a good deal, I'd say try it. If it doesn't cut it you can prolly flip it at no loss. (or add a second 8 ohm cab for more headroom)

I went through this same sort of situation about a month ago.

For me, the 200 sounded great but wasn’t enough and I eventually traded it up for a Rumble 800 head and a Rumble 410 cab.

The 200 sounds great, and unless you’re playing in a ridiculously loud band like I am it might cut it for you. Wasn’t enough for me though.

Love my 200c!
