Fender Rumble Club

I am thinking about selling my Rumble 500 head and my Rumble 115 Cab. Here is why. I am happy with it but i am also happy with my Rumble 350 head, my Markbass LM2 and my TC Electronic RS210. I may end up with a Rumble 100. Because it's light. Its loud enough for most of the gigs I do and because in the end, I like the combo set up for gigging where my band normally gig. I suppose that if I needed to use all the amperage from the other two heads (one or the other), I can probably pick up another cab quite quickly.

I'm building my home recording studio and looking for a guitar amp, for guitarists that will come to the studio. I have no idea what to look for. I have come across lists like this: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] .
Any recommendation would be great.

I had (I know I am gonna catch it for this) a Marshall MG HD FX 100 amp head with a Marshall 412a Speaker Cab I got for $250 used (about a year and a half ago) that I kept for just that reason.i realize that it is near the bottom of the Marshall line but with all the built in effects and my guitar friends using my '93 Gibson Les Paul Standard it ended up being a fun unit to mess with. But then IMHO with that LP almost anything would be fun even my Honeytone. I have seen them used on Reverb and eBay in the $200 range. Head and Cab together. Now you will hear all sorts of things about solid state and Celestion Speakers but it is a alternative in your price range. Just a suggestion.

My apologies if this has been asked previously. I have searched here and the rest of the interwebs, and don't find anything on the subject.

On the Fender Rumble Stage 800, is there a way to export preset settings to a local file vs. Fender's Tone Cloud?

The presets in the Tone Cloud usually have screenshots like this:

Is there a way to bulk-save presets, either visually like this, or even just a text file of the preset components and settings?

Obviously, I can do manual screenshots. That's how I created the image above; but, I'd prefer a bulk process. Also, I know I can just do a backup/restore, but I'd prefer to have a way to restore presets individually, and in a way that does not rely on Fender's cloud service.

Thanks in advance.

So does anyone know where to find the specs on rumble cabinets?

Fender website or the official fender rumble club wiki here on talkbass.

Maybe someone like @G-Dog could send you a link to it?

The fender web site doesn’t have it.

IDK what specs you're after, but the 7ender website gives dimensions and weights under "SPECS" for each cab/combo.

The Features and Specs on the Fender website, as shown below, are all the Fender publishes. Sorry if you don't see what you're looking for.

Yes, Droop, there have been a few of us Stage & Studio owners that have expressed an interest in the kind of preset list you describe. Alas, the only ones I know of are linked on the Rumble Wiki page in the Fender TONE APP SUPPORT section, but they are not as detailed as most of us would like.

But, if any of us find, or create, something better I could add a link to it on the wiki.

Then go for it, RUMBLE on

Yes...do it. There is always someone out there looking for a deal on what you want to sell (like me). However, you may find that, after you do, you may be back wanting to replace what you sold, but paying a higher price ;).

Neat. However, I just want to be able to use a different speaker(s) if needed, not daisy chain a second amp. Plus, I don't have a second Rumble 100.

That’s ok. I wasn’t really sure if that’s what u meant. Hope u find what ur after.

The fender web site doesn’t have it.

...Well that’s a bit stupid! :roflmao:

Yep, I know he's around but his knowledge of the rumble amps, cabinets and all things fender amplification is sorely missed.
Eeeehhhhhhh............

All I’m gonna say is that Aged Horse happens to be another very knowledgeable TB member (he designed the Mesa Subway series among others), and he is always a class act. Never rude. Never a bully.

Knowing a lot about one niche in life doesn’t give a man free reign to act out without suffering the ramifications of his actions.

Guess I never experienced that. He's been very helpful and informative to me.
Much respect for Aged Horse as well.

I have a question, this might sound stupid or has been addressed before, but I thought i would ask here because you guys are the rumble experts.

I have a first generation Fender Rumble 15, the ones with the rat fur on them. It's old and beat up, but I absolutely love the tone I get coming out of it. So much, I've often toyed with the idea of using it during a live show or recording by running a direct line to the board, and putting a mic on the cab. I know there isn't any low end, but I just really like the tone it puts out.

So, third paragraph in my question is, can I get that tone stack or sound from the bigger rumbles? I was backlined a Rumble 100 about 2 years ago for an acoustic show and I wasn't impressed, it was just too dark sounding. I was playing a Jaco Sig jazz with flatwounds, but the amp just didn't have character that Rumble 15 had.

All I know is if I could get that sound in a cab with a little more low end, and at 200watts or higher, I'd be a happy camper. I use the Rumble strictly as a bedroom practice amp, and let my GK, trace Elliott, or Ampeg rigs to the heavy lifting at gigs, but I'd sure like to have some of that tone I get from that thing pumped through the mains.

It may just be that you like that particular driver and amp combination. This would explain why the bigger version did not sound good to you. My suggestion is to enjoy your small amp for what it is, and find another amp/speaker configuration that sounds just as good to you in a loud live setting.

I have a Fender Rumble 350 2x10 combo. It has served me well since I bought it in 2012. It can project, keep up with most of what you can throw at it, so it’s versatile. I upgraded the speakers with eminences and batted the inside of the cabinet with some kinda cloth material; now it performs better than ever.

I dunno what version Rumble 100 you had backlined but, if it was a V3 you shoulda engaged the Bright button and cut back the Bass and Lo Mids, big time, to get that small amp boxy tone. You didn't describe the tone of the 15 so, assuming it was distorted, you may need to turn on the Overdrive and find a Gain and Level that gets you there. You might try that at a GC and see if that gives you what you're looking for.
