I like to travel light so its absolutely perfect for me.

That exactly was the final selling point on recently acquiring the 500c. No other combo amp that could even compare tone/watts/speakers wise was anywhere close to 34lbs. I get all the tone and headroom I need without breaking my back. Fender "hit it out of the park" with the Rumble series!

Update on this: my Rumble 500 combo does indeed die out after running for a few hours

....aaaand an update on that: the repair shop just called to say that Fender will replace the unit, which will take a couple weeks. I asked if I could have the old unit so I could make myself a 2x12 extension cabinet but it seems that won't happen, they actually have to destroy the old unit and provide proof to Fender - good Lord, why?

Thanks for all the suggestions --- I have a list of stage stands I started compiling and think that needs to be on my list of "next purchases."

Since I have all the access to a 500 that I need right now, I'm going to give the 200 a shot and see what I think of it. After lifting the ancient EV cabinet in and out of my car on a regular basis I'm going to reeeeeallly enjoy something that's under 40 pounds!

Just a bit of FYI. I just got off the phone with Hipshot as my Hb7's are on a 2 week back order.
Apparently Fender is ordering bass tuner bodies by the thousands. They have already received the other components. I asked which series they being used on and the tech mentioned Player, Performer, Vintera, and assorted other High end series but would not say which models.
Internet individual orders are placed at the top of the list.
Hmmm interesting. He wouldn't say if this is a new thing but I have ordered a number of products from Hipshot and never run into a backorder issue.
Just thought I would pass on some information that is at the very least new to me.
I did look at a few of the more popular sites that offer Hipshot tuners and they were out of stock on the Hb7's.

Rumble 115 V3:

If you're trying to drive this with a 2*6L6 amp (with low damping factor, though some say this doesn't matter), like a Bassman or clone, and can't get the lowest notes to sound right, I advise you to block the ports; I was terribly frustrated and worried about the amp circuit, the flats, etc, but once I sealed the cab I got a very noticeable clarification/sharpening of the lows. I don't notice any negatives.

Did everything I could to clean up the lows of this amp and finally wired the output tubes as triodes for maximum speaker damping, and switched to 6550s too (much stronger lows than 6L6). It is *so* clear and clean now on the lowest notes that tonight I opened the ports back up. Let me tell you: a 20W PP tube amp wired as triodes is a far, far better bass amp than the original 50W with pentodes, if you need clarity on the lowest notes.

EDIT: Posted this to be clear that I wasn't criticizing the cabinet.

The practice of destroying the old unit is not unusual in a replacement issue. In the major appliance business, if a refrigerator for example, was replaced out by the customer relations department, a new unit was delivered to the customer, and the defective refrigerator was destroyed. Before being destroyed, the information serial tag was removed, and then the old unit was crushed. This is for accountability for the two units, and this makes sure there is no way the old unit could be used again, or have a warranty claim by another owner. That's it!
The practice is more common than you would think it is.

Has anyone compared the Rumble cabinets to the hartke HyDrive cabinets. I was also noticed how light the new rumbles are, and was wondering since fender bought Genz Benz did they use the design of the focus cabinets on the new rumbles. Just a thought

Get the Line 6 Helix native plugin. It’s frigging amazing and will be all you need for any bass or guitar tone you need.

Pretty sure this could use it's own thread! Not because it's easy to answer but because there are going to be as many opinions as respondents... and this is a bass forum. Anyway, I like the idea of putting an HX Stomp on a JC-22 (for guitar)... but I like a lot of ideas.

Me too. The 500c is quite a bit lighter than my BA-115 and I like the sound of the 210 better than the 115. My bandmates have noticed the difference as well and commented favorably on it. I did pick up the 210 cab as well for outside shows and that brings up a question. I have always played some sort of a combo unit so I never had a thought about this, but does it make any sense at all to split the pair to each side of the dummer or am I overthinking it?

Yes - stack them. Especially if you guys get loud, you'll hear yourself much better!

I’m interested what others will say, but I’d expect better dispersion and less comb effect if you stack them.

I want to hear from others. My first thought is to stack 'em as my sound does carry and I won't have an amp in front of our lead singer who seems to get quite irritated at times in what I do. That is more to the point that he is not a very good rhythm guitarist and often forgets the lyrics...
